Maybe. I'd certainly believe a list from Public Transit ahead of a hit off of Transee.

If they're CNG, they're Gillig.

Following up with this, it looks like this has bus moved to the North facility. Now I see that Phoenix has cut checks to New Flyer. It's an expensive bus - $903,000. I've also noticed that Phoenix has recently been making contract changes for hybrid buses. So, is the this a pilot hybrid?

There's a shop on El Mirage, south of Glendale, behind the school. I believe it's a satellite of another location.

No, they weren't on the active roster in October 2021, which is as far back as I have.

Likely the beginning of the 2024 tranche of buses.

So this is going to happen. Then.....RPTA plans to acquire 20 Gillig electric buses coming from the City of Phoenix contract. Four pilot buses will arrive in 2027. There seems to be a question as to how early, but RPTA doesn't want them before the infrastructure is ready, which is penciled in for 1st quarter 2027. The remaining 16 buses would arrive in the later half of 2028.

The Prevost contract was not competitively bid.

GM sold 2495 buses in 1980, but only 660 in 1986. And in 1986 the other builders were Flxible, Gillig, Neoplan, Orion, and GMD/MCI Classic, (MAN ended production of the Americana in 1987, and Scania ended US production in 1988). Since bidding and winning FTA-funded bus contracts is price sensitive (but not necessarily low-bid), GM probably found it more difficult to find an adequate return. And it probably saw development of a new model on the horizon and decided to pass. ENC likely pays more for engines and transmissions than New Flyer, so it's not winning contracts on price. And the demand for propulsion systems for electric buses is a choking point for NF and Gillig. ENC may not have been able to obtain steady flow of parts to keep a production line moving.

This just in... Valley Metro plans to buy 20 Gillig CNG buses for delivery beginning "December 31, 2024" and option an additional 20 for delivery beginning "December 31, 2025". These will be purchased off the Washington State DES contract. The Valley Metro Board will decide this month. Outside of that, there are no active or planned procurements, even though it has been approved for FTA funding to acquire electric buses.

As of today the 685 Ajo - Desert Sky route is operated by RTA of Pima County (RPTA still operates the Buckeye short trips, contracted to National Express).

After further research, it was learned that the diesel buses were refueled at the south facility, while the CNG units were refueled at Via Linda. All of the buses had been based at the south facility, but now everything has moved to Via Linda.

I'm told that buses are rotated between active, spare, and contingency every so often. 92nd and Via Linda is the Scottsdale school bus garage. The property south of the Scottsdale PD at McKellips and Miller (4505) is the Scottsdale Public Works.

I saw 6742 yesterday with a full wrap. With a bright green front and a dominant light blue color scheme on the wrap, it didn't look good. If wraps are going to be the norm, VM probably should explorer a more muted color design (i.e. ditch the purple front).

Well, whichever Tempe bus went by me on Chandler Blvd at 5am said "Keolis" on it, so that happened.
-
I went over to Chandler Fashion Center to meet up with "1000". It was 6748. Most of the "1000 series" have shown up on Transee in September and October. RPTA shows no acquisitions outside of Dial-a-Ride units before November 1.

Or the transponder quit while on route. 6867, which ran into a house in Mesa on Monday, is showing back at the barn. If it were in an accident, I would expect 5118 to show the same.

5102 is ex-6632 The remainder have license plates that are too new to lookup online.
-
The assets to be acquired include a development center for battery modules and packs in California and an assembly factory in South Carolina. Maybe move the LFS production from Plattsburgh to South Carolina.

ADOT funded Section 5310 vehicle.

I don't know - the 3000s show a seating capacity of 19; the Startrans brochure doesn't show a 19 + wheelchair layout. In August and September Phoenix bought 7 units which cost $108,000 each, plus 6 more in October. In September it bought 5 units at $140,000 each, plus 6 more in October. I don't have a good handle on pricing these days, but I know they have gone way, way up in the last two years. It looks like the Gillig deliveries stopped at 18 units.
