  1. It's phenomenal how long those Phantoms have held on. 21 years of service without getting retired by MTS!
  2. Do you have any links to these materials?
  3. Hmm, sorry about that! Here's 902, spotted this morning on the 150 at VA Medical Center. I also saw 904 on the 31. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Looks like 2403 has white signs: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=873415746012615&set=gm.754984964549680&type=1
  5. South Bay 2000 C40LF 2202 still hanging on this morning. Haven't seen any of these out in months, and their 1600-series main-fleet counterparts are long retired. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Rapid XN60 on the SuperLoop on Tuesday. Very rare to see an XN60 on a non-Rapid route, and for the 201 to run with an artic rather than the specially-branded GE35LFRs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Any word on when they start getting here?
  7. Ah, good info! And you might be right -- I don't know anything firm about the timing of these orders.
  8. Wait -- are we sure this has anything to do with E60s? My reading of the article was that an existing order for 40-footers was changed to 60-footers, but it's not clear that they're electric trolleys (in fact, one article calls them "motor coaches": http://sfbay.ca/2014/10/01/sfmta-lands-grant-funds-for-new-muni-buses/). Also, there are more than 12 E60s to replace, right? Of course, replacements for the E60s are coming, but maybe a little later (http://www.fleetsandfuels.com/fleet-order/2013/08/seattle-and-san-francisco-trolley-buses/).
  9. Saw 601 heading up Texas Street signed "Kearny Mesa Division." Anyone know anything about this? Are they moving buses around? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. New CommuterLink Gillig in Escondido. RTA went all out with the styling options... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. According to p. 47 of this February 2014 board agenda, acquisition of the artics is still "in progress." http://sbmtd.gov/download/board/agendas/02-14/20140204%20Board%20Packet.pdf
  12. Do you know if KMD will get any Gilligs or hand-me-downs from IAD to replace 1801-1840?
  13. Good point! I also remember Gillig making the argument that another selling point of the larger tires is that they last longer.
  14. It would probably look a lot like this!
  15. Spotted this tableau of three liveries of Muni NABI relegated to training coach duty on Sloat Boulevard today (8017, 8032, 8040). I think the blue one might have been an NX-Judah Express coach, although previously I'd only ever seen Gilligs branded for it. (By the way, the last day of Gilligs on the NX was last Friday; it is now served by regular-Muni-branded Xcelsiors: http://www.sfexamine...ent?oid=2648902).
  16. Or other bells and whistles from the Van Hool era like full-color destination signs. Seems like AC is really changing course from the Rick Fernandez days.
  17. Are the 1993 ex-AC Transit Gilligs still around? Why would they retire the 1999 NABIs first?
  18. Spotted 1115 with new amber signs today. Surprising since the 1100s are going to be retired very soon! What kind of sign is this?
  19. Found some pics here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48495634@N07/with/8346488527/#photo_8346488527
  20. Couple 2003 SLFs up for auction: http://kenporterauctions.com/vehicle_listing_temp.asp?auctionid=291&searchval=Buses
  21. Artist rendering of the new Gilligs (no styling package apparently!) and XN60s, from SDMTS's flickr photostream:
  22. Gillig is making such crazy inroads in SoCal since offering CNG. I wonder what (partial) fleet(s) the initial 50 units will replace, and what styling options will be spec'd. And we get Xcelsiors too! (p. 174)
  23. Beach Cities Transit El Dorado EZ Rider II. http://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php?title=Beach_Cities_Transit
  24. Indeed they are Xcelsiors. This as well as all options are specified starting on p. 23 of this PDF: http://www.sfmta.com/cms/cmta/documents/9-4-12item12newflyerbuspurchaseagreement.pdf
