  1. This route is operated with U.S. coaches from Chicago to Toronto, today the 2.30 pm run had Prevost #86006 on it. The CDN driver goes to Detroit and picks up the coach and passengers going to Toronto with a stop in Windsor. Detroit is where they change drivers when heading in either direction.
  2. Have seen #251 many time here in Windsor, the last time was just a few weeks ago. It isn't used on the new Ebus Express service from Chicago to Toronto service, the coaches at this time are all blue GLI DL3's. The coach starts in Chicago with a change in Detroit to a Canadian driver for the rest of the run from Windsor to Toronto. On the first day of ebus service the U.S. coach had to be replace with a CDN bus #6190C as the brakes on the U.S. bus would not release at Canada Custom in Windsor. All buses used on this service are to be U.S. coaches. The drivers for the Ebus wear new uniforms, red/orange colour shirt with black pants and black jackets. Passengers are loaded by a number on their ticket, as they are lined up in the terminal in order and the are loaded in groups of ten people.

The China buses are coming was told they will be in Calfornia very shortly and then shipped to Windsor. Yes the Board approved a fare increase, now it is up to Council to say yes. Transit Windsor had no choice but to increase the fare as they didn't want any service cuts. People have to realize that Transit Windsor operates with the funds that the Mayor and Council give it. In fact the Mayor wants their 2013 budget to be less then 2012 budget. So if people don't like the fare increase then they should start calling the Mayor's office and their Councilman to let them know.
  4. 85624 was in Windsor for the weekend, it is ex Carolina Coach 85624. It looks like Greyhound has sent a number of 102D3's from the U.S. up to Greyhound Canada. Some have been renumbered into the 3400 series, have seen 3412, 3426, 3433 and 3438 all ex TNM&O coaches.
  5. That is a 102DL3 as it has eight side windows.
  6. You say you have the VIN, if you want to send it to me I will check my builder list and tell you its history. Bernie

Now the talk is later this fall for the two elecctric buses to be here, these will be pilot buses and must make it threw the test period before any more will be ordered. As for the plant to build these buses here only time will tell.
  8. Kevin : Thousand Island Bus Lines #81 was orig. new to CN Roadcruiser Service #4, then to Murray Hill as #811. CN Roadcruiser Service started with 12 Prevost I-41 , numbered 1 - 12 and where built with only one rear axle. But because of weight restrictions imposed by the province of Newfoundland the I-41's were returned to Prevost and a tag axle was added to them. That is why Prevost has some odd looking coaches. Murray Hill got 10 of them as 1 was lost to a fire and 1 to a accident.
  9. Alma #7208 is a model I-41, with serial P381-955-68 was never with the Canadian Forces. It was built for Canadian National Transportation as #8 in NFLD. Returned to Prevost who then sold it to Alma as #7208, then it went to Murray Hill Limousine Service as #6822.

Yes 539 is the last classic in the yellow colours, the reason its has not been repainted is it was in better condition then the other classic's and didn't need to be rebuilt, Only classic's that have been rebuilt get the white paint.
  11. ONR #5021 was Acadian Intercity Coaches #15594 and #5022 was Acadian Motorcoach Tours LP #15592. Both where new to SMT Group / Acadian Lines. Most likely both came by way of Prevost Car.

#619 - 622 all have the green tops, haven't seen 623 or 624 yet. Also 609 now has a full wrap on it and it don't look bad.

#619 the first Xcelsior arrived Sept. 29 shortly after lunch, the rest should follow now. As for 701 & 702 awaiting service, #415 is in its final stage of rebuild as its been painted. Three buses that will be retired are 508, 509, 534, what other ones not known yet.
  17. Transit Windsor is getting six buses which are not part of the Province order.
  18. Interesting that Ontario has surplus buses, since Greyhound has been using Badder Bus for runs out of Windsor and London. On Sunday Greyhound had a H3-45 #5603 that is still in Voyager paint and lettering on the afternoon run outof Windsor.

TW will get 6 buses in June 2011, any orders after this will be for 5 buses to save money. Part of the budget was deferred at the recent Board meeting at the Chair's request till the next board meeting in Feb.. Citty Council still has final say in the budget.

The only order for TW for 2011 are for 6 Xcelsior Hybrid's. reasons for them are they are 10,000 lbs lighter then the DE40LFR and have four wheel disc brakes which the DE40LFR does not have. TW likes the four wheel disc brakes, since the Nova's have four wheel disc brakes. The Board is looking at diesel buses for any future orders, but nothing has been decided yet, key will be funding.

For your information 412 is in service today and there was no plan to retire it, also the ex DRT buses there again is no plan to retire them. When the new buses come in the worst six buses will be retired. Don't be surprise if the new buses aren't DE40LFR, but Xcelsior.
  24. The H5-60's that Orleans had came from Voyageur Inc. #3000 - 3011. Holland America Line / Westours #1001 - 1018 where new to them.
