  1. Which holds more

    DD Buses or artics?

Also loading and unloading. Since accorrding to the "rules" you suppose to wait for the bus to stop before getting up (on the second level), then walking done the aisle down the stairs and out the door before the bus takes off again and vice versa going up to the second level.

I woulod think that would take more time then exiting and artic bus.?

"The intent of staff is also to relax the operating policy requirement of not using the stairs while the bus is in motion. This would reduce both passenger loading time and the time required to disembark from the second floor, making it less challenging for operators to manage on-board movements and increasing operating speed".

Much appreciated and thanks as always.

  3. the ST wiki article dosent seem 100% accurate. The newer of the MCIs have cummins engines not detroits. The Bredas had Ohio Brass Poles and bases with Delachaux retrievers. Those were all removed in favor of the Kiepie Penumatic system that was first tested on AMG 956 back in the 'day. The engines/transmissions of the bredas were also removed when converted as well. Also i had heard today that a retired metro gillig is at Tacoma General Metals awaiting its fate. I remember when those were new and the flyers were at General Metals. A moment of silence please.

I put in the original wiki entry, sorry my bad. Do you know if its ISM or ISL? Doc below doesn't specifically state.

The results wern't published, nor what they'd be using them for.

There might be other reports out there if you know where to look.

I'm pretty sure Nova's bid for the 07 buses was higher than NFI's but won due to the DPFs...if only Translink didn't change their site and corrupt their links...again

  5. OK, why in the hell is that? The construction is done, the line was once trolleys, so what's the big idea of not returning the route to its glory? And don't tell me that the residents didn't want the trolleys back, because that's bullshit, I signed onto a petition that was lobbying for the return of trolleys to Cambie Street...

Cost was the deciding factor based on their cost analysis (avoiding 2.5M to 3.5M in capital costs). Also their analysis noted service after the introduction of the Canada Line would be reduced to 15 mins which is not appropriate for trolleybus service; I'm not sure how that is justified though...but the 5-6 trolleys were reallocated to higher capacity routes. And don't forget they're cash strapped...
