  1. Is the relief point for the 52 still at Jane & Lawrence as it was when Mt. Dennis had it? Why do you say Keele no longer needs artics? Would think it depends on how many routes will service Keelesdale. I can see 41doing either, especially NB as it is easier to get into and out of Keelesdale even though artics take up a lot of real estate per bus bay. SB unlikely as it is an awkward Stn. to get into and exit back out from to go south.
  2. Today I heard as of the March 29 board period Keele Stn. will be closed for elevator const. Anyone know the detour routings for the buses that serve this station? 41, 80 and 89.
  3. Brampton ZUM buses have not stopped service to York U. In fact they taken over space at YRT's discontinued terminal at Chimneystack Rd.
  4. Wouldn't there be a clearance problem at Keele Stn. at the underpass for the 41 and 89?
  5. Does anyone know how long images captured on TTC bus cameras are available to be retrieved by police as evidence in potential criminal cases before they are recycled?
  6. Maybe that explains why she forgot to call 911.
  7. I agree about the thin edge. Tory can't even agree whether or not uber is breaking any city bylaws and Byford's not sure if TTC's monopoly is being infringed on? Huh? No wonder uber's impertinent and cheeky attitude knows no bounds. Mihevic believes they should deal with uber before they get too big and out of control, if they wait any longer, that'll be a moot point.. Minnan-Wong wants the city to look into private companies that offer 'micro-transit' services. Of course there's no reason those micro services won't or can't expand system wide once they've gotten a foothold.
  8. That's OK. They're only going to get lazier and fatter. Customers are people who pay and know the cost of a service, freeloaders aren't and never will since to them it's free.
  9. Why would they? It's not really breaking news, they didn't report on any other retirements, and most riders could care less.
  10. Oh, everyone knows about it because the locations and times(rush hrs.) are posted in the division for all to see, but this is targeted to mostly NIS buses running in after the rushes.
  11. It is, but this is being done by TTC Special Constables/Supervisors for the purpose of identifying and dealing with violators(TTC drivers) for the purpose of disciplinary actions by management. This is a Byford initiative started after the recent series of events involving allegedly poor driving practices by TTC operators.
  12. Yes, that's right, speed enforcement. They are also on Ray, opposite the Post office.
  13. I get the fact that Tory pulled this idea out of his ass without thinking or telling anyone prior, but we tried telling him it was a disaster, still Byford gleefully rubber stamped it it without so much as a whimper. 25 cents? Whats the point? Most can easily afford at least a loonie. Look, the main reason they go after Metropass users, and ticket/tokens is because they're a captive audience and it's easier to recover the increase at point of purchase. Whereas if they increase the cash fare, it's nearly impossible to detect thanks to cheats and archaic technology. Besides, with the new fare non-enforcement policy, they know it would be pointless to do since we're not supposed to actually collect fares anymore.
  14. That's true, it was done very slowly and carefully with supervisory and shop steward on board to determine the safety and characteristics aspect. It was decided they can be deployed into Lawrence Stn. whether or not it is deemed doable from a practical aspect is a management decision.
  15. Why a left turn only? They accelerate slowly period, they are even slower when making any kind of turn for obvious reasons.
  16. Be that as it may, you're forgetting cash fares will always be around. Presto won't eliminate that, they'll still have to collect, sort and process it. Labor intensive and TTC hates that.
  17. I'm pretty sure they'll get around to all those in good time, but first things first.
