  1. I guess they'll be running the artics on the 760 along with the 20. Still, this sounds like more regression from YRT's planning department (if they dare call themselves that). But you know, let's spend more money that should go towards service improvements on useless advertising. Note to York Region. Ditch the for-profit companies and run it publicly like everybody else.
  2. Not too aesthetically pleasing from the outside but it does the job. It looks like Sherbrooke could have the first batch with this new window.
  3. Judging by the New Jersey address on the article, the 35 foot bus could be a Vicinity coming from Alliance Bus Sales. I guess people should get their shots of the Orions while they still can.
  4. It's strange that they haven't applied numbers to the buses. Mind you, the tracker will certainly help. Hopefully they'll put a livery and numbers on them shortly.
  5. Can you please change the title of these two pages? Their current fleet numbers will be listed beside the link. https://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php/Trenton_Transit_A (TRAR40) https://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php/Trenton_Transit_B (TRAR94)
  6. What more can they do here? Also, hello fellow Dundas resident.
  7. I don't see how that's possible considering the 8 already has an interline with routes 6 and 7. The 18 can't be interlined with anything because of the long headways. Also Judi Partridge, the councillor for Waterdown has expressly said she doesn't want 40 foot buses there. What is your source on this?
  8. I can imagine cutting three of the North Division routes and replacing them with Dial a Ride routes will go over well. Seriously, cutting routes 51, 52 and 58 makes no sense.

Interesting numbering sequence. It leads me to thinking that they're thinking of more branches of regional transit.
  10. They would have had to be. Every time there is an unfamiliar bus, there is always a break in period. The training department gets it first and subsequently trains operators to familiarize them with the new equipment.

Which ones will be reserved for Lasalle?
  12. When I checked Transsee this afternoon, there were 13 Orion VIIs that went out for PM rush hour work, including 2319 doing a 200/9 run.
  13. All new XD40s have the Cummins L9, which is the newest evolution of the heavy duty bus engine. It was definitely a surprise to hear the familiar Voith whine on 21731. I had to walk over to the bus and look at the transmission selector buttons to make sure.
  14. There are seven XD40s there. Those are 21701-21706 and 21721. Oh and the current batch from 21719 onwards have Voith D864.6 transmissions as confirmed by me earlier today.
  15. So essentially, they've made it nearly useless.

It is indeed a Champion LF Transport. Is this number 3?

As ARBOC Specialty Vehicles sells both models, it doesn't affect the body of the bus itself. It will probably be the Spirit of Mobility though as that is what is usually ordered. The engine is not chosen by ARBOC but by General Motors when they build the cutaway chassis.

They discontinued the Duramax diesel engine that came with the Chevrolet 4500 if memory serves me.

If you could get a photo next time you see it, that would be terrific.
  20. Unfortunately not. The new marketing coordinator got it to the advertising agency too late for them to choose a bus. It's unfortunate but they will be working on one for next year.
  21. I believe the manufacturer uses the old programming software for delivery to make the sign work. The transit system programs it with the current software once it arrives.
