  1. No. It was a one off acquisition. Iirc it was a demo unit orion built as a hybrid, had MTA interior. Then as part of some Bay Area hydrogen pilot, we got it, some university converted it to a hydrogen fuel cell, and then it was delivered. The project manager forgot to arrange a fueling setup for it though, so it only went out of the yard maybe 5 times tops.
  2. Funny that they didnt list 1406, 29, and 35, 1406 was retired earlier this month, its being stripped now, and then 1429 and 1435 were wrecked in 1999 (i think) and 2002. Those two probably have been off roster for so long that they don't count them any more.
  3. Has Calgary Transit accepted that car or does Siemens still own it, or use it for other testing purposes? The last one of our first batch (former parts car 2033) finally got accepted last august, but Siemens promptly chose that car to use as a test rig for everything else (it had just gotten its interior finally finished, but then they ripped it out again to install new seats), and it still hasn't entered service.
  4. Not talk, we are getting 3 Nova LFSe. It was planned for earlier, (we were in talks with Virginia back in Feb 2020) but as you can imagine things got in the way. I don't think this is like the others where there are options for more, but that may change as the final agreements are pencilled out.
  5. Ok let me clarify something as I actually work for Muni and was part of Potrero Yard Modernization Project team during the pre RFP stage. Trollebusses are not banned, they do count as electric buses. They aren't counting for the replacement of diesel coaches though because they're electric replacing an electrified fleet. So one trolley purchased from 2018 gets us 1/10 of a electric bus credit. The real issue is manufacturer support and offerings for when we would replace the current fleet in the mid to late 2030s. The assumption is that battery tech would have progressed far enough and no manufacturers would want to produce trolleys. So the plan is replace trolleys with BEBs. That isn't set in stone, yet, but it looks very very very probable.
  6. Did Siemens make the call to use that as a parts car or did Calgary Transit? Down here in SF, Siemens started the pillaging of 2033, but then maintenance continued and used 2012 for a little bit because Siemens was so far behind in resupplying parts.
  7. All of our remaining 14TrSf were retired in early September 2019 after one had a battery explode in a yard. At that time there were something like 50 on property, of those around 35 were running in service. They all got sent to auction between October 2019 and December 2019, with the last ones being sold in January 2020. 5538 still is here, painted in the simplified landor scheme that 5400, 5401 and 5402 wore (5401 and 5402 later got repainted in the septa scheme).
  8. There isn't really a specific convention per se, some of the new Luminator ones (very few now) don't have the yellow text update. All of the trolleys with spectrum have it, (one runs around with green numbers), and I think 6629-6697, 8751-8780, and a majority of the 8900s have it. As for the refurbishments, yes the refurbs to my knowlege would get the spectrum signs. However, from what I hear from procurement, some of the battery electric prototypes may have a different type of sign.
  9. Our s200s had their front panels (below the operators' cab windows) fall off a fair bit, but all they did was just re-engineer some of the connecting locks. Nowhere near as bad as the conductive "insulators" they had at the base of our pantographs
  10. Those two cars ended up at San Francisco Muni in the early 1990s, where one was made standard gauge. 4472 is standard, 4404 is still toronto gauge. A man in south lake tahoe acquired them a short while later, and they've been in storage in south lake tahoe and now colfax since around 1995. I'm not too sure what condition the trucks are in on either, or if they're the originals on 4472. As to the body condition, its probably poor. We at muni stored them outdoors in the early 1990s, and they got battered by snow, and road salt in tahoe as the lot in south lake tahoe was right next to highway 50, and they were stored right on the fence with the highway. Storing them in a part of a forest didn't do them any favors either. They've been for sale for a little while now, maybe 2 years. To my recollection, 4472 is in a bit better shape than 4404, but not by a lot. 4404 has several windows missing and other massive rust issues, 4472 has all its windows but still a bunch of rust.
  11. No, it's a permanent extension. It has been in planning for a while, but we only got around to doing it now. It is marketed as an alternative transport option to Chrissy Field, and for essential workers to get there, as some people in the Marina would likely be opposed to having the 60 foot busses on the 30 full time.
  12. The XT60s have returned, but due to some construction the terminal is still in the Marina. It will be extended whenever the roadwork is done.
  13. It isn't confirmed that the S is going to be three car trains. Current plan is 5 two car trains, its unlikely to change from that at this point.
  14. That roster has a few inaccuracies, specifically with the stored cars as that collection has been reduced significantly. Also, some of the vintage cars have progressed further along the path to operational status. Definitely provides a good overview but not the most accurate/up to date.
  15. Two slight changes, the 44 now goes to Forest Hill, and the 49 goes to Fish. Wharf, like the 47 would.
  16. Just curious but what's the cctv system like on those cars? Is it one monitor for everything or one for each side?
  17. Was the performance limiting due to wheel flats or braking issues?
  18. 5538 at woods in its new paint scheme
