4207 is still tracking and was at the open house on Saturday. Does this indicate that 4207 is more likely to be preserved?

Not necessarily, but it could be. Best to wait and see what ALRV the TTC decides to preserve.

I was told by someone at the open house that 4207 was the one they were sending to Halton. Can't actually confirm or deny if this is actually true but it seems likely.

3390 is not a bus, the numbers go up to 3369, If your commute is on Sheppard seeing 9022 on the 40 is impossible. Also highly unlikely to see a LFSA on the 40 Junction.

Whoops, 41 for the LFSA. Not 40. As for 3390, I only caught the first two numbers. I went off of what I could make out

    8088 40

    7956 40

    8030 40

5821-5826 Line 1 (I only mentioned this because that particular set had a weird braking that sounded like a baby screaming/squealing)

5072-5073 Line 2 (I mentioned this one because the external speakers were working... and malfunctioned. The announcement kept playing the entire ride from Dundas West to Kennedy even if the train was in motion.)

I think with the newer update to the side signs (they now say "towards Kipling/Kennedy" instead of the older "to Kipling/Kennedy") they also increased the noise of the external, so now it's blurting it out.

I also heard sets with more clear speakers and I genuinely thought it was saying "Line 2 to Don Mills"

The BYDs might have a potential to perform well in terms of mileage. Ikarus built great buses that lasted for decades in Europe but they weren't well suited for Canadian roads. They might be very functional in southern China like all the ones in roaming in Shenzhen. There is a probability the frame will end up with the same fate here. I was specifically pointing to those artics but who knows, Cali doesn't snow like us.

Ah okay. I kinda forgot about the issues with the Ikaruses. My bad.

Perhaps the allegations are unfounded, but I don’t see the other two manufacturers getting their asses dragged into court semi regularly.

Okay, I had zero idea about that. Thanks for filling me in.

  6. Saw a 4 car T1 at Davisville Yard on my way home. I see this semi-frequently and I have to wonder - why do they do this? I thought there was an ATO requirement that prevented it from making the trek up here. (Actually I'm not sure if this is a normal sighting just because I see it maybe every week or other week.)
