  1. I find it interesting that the STS has destination signs (similar to the ones at the back of the bus) INSIDE the buses (close to the front). I noticed that in YouTube videos. I think they have it there to ensure customers know the route the bus is on, but why can't they do it some other way? One option that may work would be using LCD screens similar to what the TTC, MTA/NYCT and NRT use on some buses to display not only the next stop, ads and other info, but also the route and destination of the bus. I mean, it seems like it could be costly.
  2. Ah. I understand that part. I know that TransEd will be operating buses at some point, because Fort Sask wouldn't have joined (https://www.fortsask.ca/en/living-here/rtsc.aspx). I'd love to make the trip from Vancouver when TransEd is operating rail and bus. Thanks for the info!
  3. When does the new Regional transit Authority (TransEd) officially start? Is TransEd the network redesign. or is that another change taking place later?
  4. Could I please get a username change to Urban_96? That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Thanks! I really do think that every system should have screens similar to this.
  6. I’m interested in the screens inside the latest LFS order. What do they display? Just weather/news etc., or do they also show the next stop and things like that like they do in Toronto and NYC?
  7. Could you please post the link? I’d love to check it out!
  8. Agreed. The charger is a bit weird looking.
  9. I don’t know much about this subject, they might be doing both Hill Testing AND Operator Orientation at the same time. Maybe they are training operators in the BYDs while mechanics from the depot are tracking how the bus performs on hills.
  10. I would think that it is in order to comply with Physical Distancing regulations like you mentioned, and also to hold more passengers. As well, because it is longer, it is easier to stay 6 feet away from others in an artic.
  11. I’m pretty happy about the 368. I live close to the proposed routing (as in Scottsdale Exch)!
  12. Yep. The XDE60s (2012 and 2016) are on the 403 sometimes.
  13. I got photos. Not sure if they are good. @Chris W has some good Ion Bus pics on his Flikr.
  14. Wasn’t sure where to post this, but I didn’t see any Arctic’s on the Line 1 shuttle last Sunday. Driving home, I saw one on the Sheppard Overpass at Highway 404. The Line 1 shuttle was fairly busy, so why not allocate the 40 foots to the other routes in trade for some artics on the Line 1 shuttle?
  15. 1904/1905 Were on the 20 Jane. Saw them both at Highway 407 Terminal waiting for the 54 Mount Joy GO. Video of 1905 coming soon.
  16. Gee, I have been waiting for BC transit to get new Double Decks! I hope that the buses will have NextRide LCD screens!
  17. Link for new Double Deck info/pictures: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/double-decker-buses-revealed-1.5219692
  18. 19009 was having communication troubles this afternoon at the Grandview Highway B - Line layover spot. The driver did not want to drive the bus because he was worried that he couldn't contact dispatch if anything went wrong because the bus's telephone was down.
  19. Here's 19005, taken June 21st, 2019. If it's Wiki acceptable, you are encouraged to use it.
  20. The new CPTDB is pretty darn cool! It will take a bit getting used to, though.
