  5. There were a bunch of 26/27/2800s that were 'retired' back in 2020, but then re-entered service because metro needed more buses on the road. I'm not fully aware of how all of that works, but that might have been the case for that bus, (and it it was) someone might have forgot to have changed the status for the bus. Pantograph is a great way of seeing weather a bus is still in service or not.

  7. According to the board documents that TriMet provided (here https://trimet.org/meetings/board/pdfs/2019-09-18/Res%2019-09-77.pdf), it cost them just over 6 million dollars for work on 9 buses. The breakdown of buses include: 5 Gillig Diesel Bus overhauls (3042-3046) 3 Gillig BEB Conversions (3048-3050) and one Artic BEB Conversion (4101). They probably spent a little more than the avg cost of all the buses to do the 60 foot overhaul. It looks like that would end up being in the 500,000 to 600,000 range. The one TriMet used probably came from Transitsales. BTW, the bus should have been obtained in late 2019/early 2020, which might narrow down which one it is.
  8. No, those buses have been long retired since 2012. The conversion work is not being done by TriMet, it is being done by CCW (Complete Coach Works: https://completecoach.com/), and they do not have those retired buses. CCW has their own stock of parts from New Flyer buses, so the that is probably where those are coming from. TriMet sent buses 3042-3046 to CCW (the same place in California) to undergo a diesel refurbishment. They came back to Portland in the new paint scheme, and refurbished interior. But, they have retained their original numbers while doing so. (BTW, if you wanted to know, only 3042 is in service. They are still working to get 43-46 in service. You can track the bus here http://www.rosecitytransit.org/systemmapper/single.php?vehicle=3042). The interior on the diesel refurbished buses give some major differences from the other 3000s. The interiors on the 3048-3050 are probably going to be similar to 3042-3046. I mention that because it leads me to believe that 3048-3050 will not be renumbered when they return to Portland and enter service as a BEB. Probably.
  9. @Trimet101 This is TriMet coach 3050. It is a (now) BEB, which used to be a diesel bus from 2012 (when it was built) to 2019. It was removed from service and sent to CCW (complete coach works) in California in late 2019 to undergo a overhaul. They have since converted the bus from being a diesel bus to being an electrically powered bus. They also did a few other 'minor' things with the bus, such as repainting it into being in the new paint scheme. Buses 3048 and 3049 are also undergoing this overhaul. They are undergoing testing in California before returning to Portland in the coming months. Due to the odd circumstances caused by COVID-19 Pandemic, TriMet decided to 'turn off' the cash farebox and stopped accepting cash fares for over 5 months (while still accepting HOP fares during this time). Thanks to driver barriers being installed on the majority of the fleet, as of October 1, TriMet will go back to accepting cash fares. https://blog.trimet.org/2020/09/24/pay-fare-with-cash-on-buses-again-starting-october-1/
  12. With the COVID pandemic, TriMet has decided to speed up the process on installing driver protective Barriers on the entire fleet. Before this decision was made, the barriers were only installed on 3500 series-and-newer buses. At the time of this posting, TriMet now has over 500 buses have barriers. This accounts for almost all of the Gilligs in the fleet (with the exception of the 30' Gilligs) have barriers installed. As of this week they are starting to install barriers on the LFRs (2900s), as well. Since the installation process began in early July, they have equipped all 3000s, 3100s, 3200s, and 3300s with barriers. Expect one to arrive on your local bus, soon.   13. Yes, they are to have cabs on both ends. They will be able to be ran as single car trains just like the 1's, 2's, and 3's. According to https://www.pantographapp.com/vehicle/8/3260, 3260 has returned to service as of July 17
