  1. I wasn’t able to see it properly as I was on mobile, but now I see it. Thanks for the correction. @alexb320 I wonder if they’ll be getting more electric vehicles from here on out as the 01 Phantoms are now 20 years of age.
  2. @alexb320 It’s been awhile since last commenting here and I hope all is well. I checked on GovDeals recently and #562 was retired due to getting in a accident which caused enough damage for it to put out of service. Is it possible for you to update the roster? Here’s the link: https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=3913&acctid=4740
  3. That's correct as they are used on route 901X & 902X. Likewise, cutaways are used 600 & 601 Microbus to Eastwood meadows in morning and evening times. Here's a photo as an example:
  4. Thank you for the excellent breakdown of the material and events to occur soon, @alexb320 I didn't know RTS had a preference for retiring older units at 14 years of age and grades the performance of existing vehicles in service. My guess is that they'll install the electric chargers around or close to UF test out the vehicles performance. As for the photo, I'm flattered that they used mine for something important.
  5. Along with the 800X being introduced this year, RTS will be adding an addition 2 new express routes 901X which will go from Lake City thru Alachua and Butler Plaza Transfer Station along with 902X from Trenton thru Newberry to Butler Plaza TS.
  6. That’s an Ex-Gainesville RTS for sure. I asked the poster about the fleet number as it’s hard to see it due to the way it was taken. I’m glad that they have a new life somewhere else. Edit: After looking at a few of the shots I took earlier this year, this unit is #513.
  7. Santa Monica BBB #1709 (one of 25 buses ordered) is spotted here at the Aviation & LAX Station on layover. This unit was running on line 3 to Downtown Santa Monica Station via. Lincoln Blvd.
  8. Yep and that doesn’t even factor that parts of the city have roundabouts making difficult for an articulated unit to go around. RTS needs to buy more BRT buses and keep them on their busiest routes. What a shame...If possible I’d like them to sold to be resold to a shuttle company.
  9. Nice to know 503 & 508 are around. I hope there around for a few years as I’ll buy one if I can. In your other statement, does it mean purchased by a scrapper or purchased and scrapped?
  10. Due to the buyers not retrieving their items after the 15 day period, #502 is now back on sale! https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=1347&acctid=4740 @alexb320 Prehaps you can get an RTS now!
  11. 102, 117, & 120 are up for sale now! According to the description, #120 was involved in an accident and had parts such as front bumper and A/C condenser fan removed. https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=1369&acctid=4740 https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=1370&acctid=4740 https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=1368&acctid=4740
  12. The Novas still haven’t left the lot and it’s past the 15 day limit to retrieve them. I wonder if they’ll be resold.
  13. #283 & #116 are now up for sale on Gov Deals. #4 is now the only bus for training purposes. https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=1363&acctid=4740 https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=1364&acctid=4740
  14. Found the new schedules that have been printed out a week before fall service starts. Here is a photo of the cover. Unfortunately, route 62 has been discontinued. I assume it’s due to a lack of ridership as it was one of least used routes in the system along with route 39 & 40.
  15. Does anyone have an idea of the current roster. The wiki is pretty outdated at the moment.
  16. Route 800, a new route and the first express service in Gainesville, will be using the I-75 to go from Butler Plaza to Santa Fe College. I’ll get a recording of this route when it starts on the first day.
  17. Is it safe to say that a vehicle’s VIN that is not showing up on any vehicle history site indicates that the vehicle is scrapped?
  18. The driverless shuttle buses have now started to roam the streets. RTS is still doing testing and mapping of routes that the shuttle will serve. http://www.gainesville.com/news/20180503/self-driving-shuttle-hits-streets
  19. I was sitting on the bleachers so I wouldn’t have noticed you around. Next time I guess. I’ll be uploading the rest of the photos taken there on the weekend. Last time I checked 551, it was in tact. It’s probably getting a few minor repairs done to it. As for the 1600’s, they run well and don’t shake as much as their previous order of low floors. I do wish however, they had cloth seating like they have before as the plastic seats aren’t very comfortable. I didn’t know Gillig’s manufacturing quality has been going downhill for this long. Are they cutting down on costs by purchasing cheaper materials for building their buses? This makes me wish Millennium Transit Services had their priorities straitened out as more competition in the bus industry would be a good thing as companies such as Neoplan, Nabi, Flexible, and recently Orion are no longer in the bus manufacturing Industry. One more thing, some of the RTSs have been moved to the old lot meaning they should be on GovDeals very soon. Some people I know are very interested in purchasing one.
  20. Here are some photos of 20th Annual Bus Rodeo which happened yesterday. @alexb320I didn’t get to see you or I happened to overlook where you were unfortunately. I was thinking to call out your name but that would be awkward.
  21. At around 11 AM, there was a report of a white SUV crashing into a bus at NW 39th Ave. 15 people total were on the vehicle and 13 recieved minor injuries. Here’s more on the story. http://www.gainesville.com/news/20180307/rts-bus-suv-crash-into-woods
  22. I see. That would make sense as they also retired their Orion Vs and 95 phantoms as well. Great to know you were also getting into the hobby of understanding transit. Hehe.
  23. Excellent post. It brings another question about some of other ambiguous units RTS owned. Whatever happened to the 30’ ex-Palm Tran Phantoms they had? All credit belongs to El Guajiro for these photos on his Flickr account.
  24. The JTA wiki page needs to be updated as it still has it under their current active fleet.
