To further comment these test units are being shipped in from Europe, being purchased with municipal funds to avoid US content requirements. Press release states that their NA factory will be up and running in the next few years, producing exclusively battery electric and trolleybuses. They state their intention to bid on the Vancouver trolley contract. I wonder if we might see Solaris bidding on Vancouver BEV contracts around the same time, too.

A lot of these inside sources are off the record or for internal consumption only. So it's not really possible to post the source. Other times it's just a operator posting directly. This is a forum, not a news article or encyclopaedia, there's not really any need for a confirmed source in most cases.

Nah, that's really not the thing to do, and incredibly immature. There are many in this community with various conditions, and we should be welcoming of them all. The issue is not whether they are autistic; it's instead the spamming on the forum.

2020 (-2023) Articulated 60' Bus Procurement
buizelbus replied to Express691's topic in Metro Vancouver
If I recall correctly, they are retired LA TAP readers. -
I'm going to be honest, this is the one place where I don't mind them. They're not bad drawings, and it does illustrate a Sweep-R XT40, something that could happen soon.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter. A bus is a bus and unless it doesn't fit in the depot or the maintenance bay it will go out.
-
Too many on there consider "some driver said so" as fact. Truth be told many of them don't keep up with the latest transfers, at the end of the day they drive a bus and unless they see new work at their depot or had a block they often do taken away, they probably don't notice.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/translink-unveils-new-r6-rapidbus-in-surrey-1.7072835 This article says that Mayor Locke of Surrey is 'looking forward to the planned launch of another RapidBus route along King George Boulevard in the coming year'. Is this a sign of a KGB RapidBus extension to White Rock in the works?

Dover's post didn't contain all of the units it does now earlier.

One person swore twice in a thread, and it wasn't targeted towards anyone, not even a general group. A 2 week ban and a public apology? That's ridiculous.

Previous photos I've seen look like normal XDE60. -
Yes, but it's usually an urban bus, not a NovaSub.

buizelbus replied to Express691's topic in Metro Vancouver
The first 50 were planned to go to PTC as of awhile ago. The next 84 were to be split between PTC/HTC/STC depending on need. -

The only context I can think of where they order Nova CNG is if NFI has a massive backlog of orders. Which I think is getting much better at this point from the 18 month waits back in the serious COVID times, so I guess we'll see. -

As far as I know, there are no R1 runs out of PCTC. -

I've heard similar information about artics on the 2. I've also heard this as the reason why they're pulling artics off the 240. -
Surprising to see, considering the seeming shortage of trainsets and the MK5s not yet here. I've seen the photos too. I'm presuming there was some mechanical or structural issue that couldn't be fixed?
