  1. Back in 2015, the Savannah College of Art & Design ordered I believe 33 of these Eldorado Axess BRT IIs #s 901-933. Their transit system is operated by First Transit and before these arrived, they ran a fleet of transit style All American REs, IC REs, and older cutaways. 2. A post in THE BUS LOUNGE has suggested that WMATA's first XE40 has arrived. The fleet number is 1001and it's going to the Western Division. Are there any more due to arrive or is this just a pilot?
  3. Chatham Area Transit switched from Detroit Diesel to Cummins when our first order of 2003 Advantages came in. Well....a few of our phantoms had L10s.
  4. Similar here in Savannah. IMO, CAT spec'd our 2006s & 2011 hybrids great! Although they're due for rehabilitation now, they are still pretty tough and are fast as you know what! Surprisingly, the 1100s run pretty smooth and swift for hybrids and they don't stall. Meanwhile, our '09 hybrids tends to drag after 40 mph. Well hybrids shouldn't even be assigned to highway runs. That's why I say TAs should join bus consortiums to get together and really plan and discuss how to spec a quality built bus that can last 12 years.
  5. Some of our 2012 Goshen GC IIs on a Chevy G4500 chassis. These are powered by a Duramax Diesel 6.6L engine. Overall, they're good buses, but they aren't the types to ride down a pot hole infested street. 6. I agree. For instance, PAT got a digital speedometer ans probably uses a Recaro seat while other TAs may use USSC seats and normal speedometers. I think what makes a good bus is all in specifications. Let's just say if you just want a regular ole Gillig, and it costs $475k. Then within about 6 months of service, the bus has suspension problems, electrical shortages, frame problems, etc. Now if another agency orders a Gillig that costs $625k, but that agency spec'd their bus with more expensive, easy to maintain parts, you'll probably get 500k and/or 12 years out of your bus. I also hear Gillig is good with customer service. I find that true down here in Georgia since one of our buses needed a new side panel. It was delivered that same week, it the bus was ready to go the following week. I guess that's another thing TAs look for in their RFPs. Your bus may look good, but if your parts department can't supply replacement parts, then ?.
  7. I was thinking maybe Pittsburgh. I believe all the phantoms have been retired though.
  8. Hopefully, they will be in service by October.
  9. Here's a photo of recently refurbished bus #0610. This is a 2006 model with an ISL/Voith D864.5. All refurbishments are being completed by Coach Crafters in Tavares, FL, with plans to also rehab the 2009 hybrids. (CAT) This should be removed....the photo isn't showing up. 10. Some pictures of two of our new 2016 Gillig Trolleys. Photos are by a friend.
  11. https://www.transit.dot.gov/funding/grants/fiscal-year-2016-bus-and-bus-facilities-projects kind of an older article, but nonetheless, still interesting! Also, my home TA (Chatham Area Transit) is on the list for 26 new paratransit vehicles. 21 of those vehicles are up for replacement, while the other 5 are additions to the fleet. Also, congratulations to the other transit authorities to receive funding this year!
  12. http://www.ridecarta.com/news-info/announcements/bus-grant could this spell the end of CARTA's 1994 Flexibles?
  13. Good evening! I just heard back from maintenance a today on a few updates. Here they are: *The 2012 Goshen GC IIs fleet numbers are 1201-1204. They have 6.6L Duramax Diesels on a Chevrolet G4500 Chassis. *The 2015 Goshens ARE ACTUALLY 2014 Goshen GC IIs numbered 1402-1403. They are in fact branded for the Liberty Parking Shuttle. These also have the the Duramax Diesel 6.6L engine on a Chevrolet G4500 chassis. ? Paratransit Roster *1001T-1006T: These are 2010 Eldorado Aerotechs on a Chevrolet G3500 chassis and has the 6.0L gas engine. Unit 1001T was damaged and removed from service and unit 1006T is retired. *1110T-1123T: These units are 2011 Eldorado Aerotechs on a Chevrolet G3500 chassis with the 6.6L Duramax Diesel. *433-438: These units are 2014 MV-1s from Motor Ventures. They have gas engines. *1610-1614: These are 2016 Goshen GC IIs on a Chevrolet G3500 chassis and has the 6.0L gas engine.
  14. So I was just on the CPTDB's New Bus Order site, and I was curious to know did any of the 5 Prevost X3-45s arrived to LYNX yet?

    HART

Yesterday, someone in THE BUS LOUNGE on Facebook spotted HART #1612 Southbound on I-75 just outside Atlanta. I believe the time was early that morning.
  17. #1601-1602 are 2016 Gillig Advantage Diesels (29 feet, standard). And to answer your last question, yes.
  18. MARTA has ordered 270 Gilligs.....I believe they will start arriving the later part of next year over the next 5 years.
  19. I was wondering when will the Cummins engine page see an update? I understand the new engines (Cummins B6.7, L9, X12, X15 (Performance & Efficiency) won't be out until 2017 however. https://cumminsengines.com/cummins-transit-lineup-2017 link to the updated engines anticipated for 2017.
  20. I'll be happy to join thr editor board! I live in Savannah, GA and I can help with the editing of the Southeast U.S. rosters. I'm a frequent rider of Chatham Area Transit, an I have several inside sources concerning CAT's vehicles, routes, plans, etc. I know I'm fairly new to the site, but I'm always available if you all need me.
  21. Good afternoon fellow peers! I have some information that I would like incorporated into the CPTDB CAT Roster. Facilities: *Back on October 7th, 2013 CAT opened the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center to be the hub for all downtown fixed routes. It is located at 610 W. Oglethrope Ave. Savannah, GA 31401. All other associated components under the 900 E. Gwinnett location also goes along with the ITC. Roster: *0406: This unit is on loan to CAT from Coach Crafters based in Tavares, FL. Coach Crafters awarded a contract in 2015 to rehabilitate 14 of their fleet's vehicles. The unit is ex Palm Trans, but not sure of the exact fleet number. *0604: This unit at Coach Crafters being rehabilitated. *0606: This unit is currently out of service due to engine failure. It will return to service once Coach Crafters rehabilitates it. *0607: This unit is currently at Coach Crafters getting rehabilitated. *0610: This unit is currently at Coach Crafters getting rehabilitated. *1601-1602: These units were ordered in 2014 and arrived in July of this year (2016) to be placed on the DOT shuttle. These are straight diesel (Cummins ISL9), but I'm not sure of the transmission yet. In time, these will relieve 0601-0602 from the shuttle, and they will be put back on low ridership routes and eventually rehabilitated. *3007: This unit is currently at Coach Crafters getting rehabilitated. *3027: This unit has been rehabilitated by Coach Crafters and arrived August of this year (2016) complete with a new floor, rebuilt drivetrain, Q-Pod tie down system, new paint, and a host of other services.
  22. It's too bad we don't have these anymore. Once First Student was booted out as our school bus contractor, we switched over to MV/Reliant Transportation to take over the duties. They quit last SY (August 2015-May 2016) and now SCCPSS has brought the school transportation in house.
  23. Chatham Area Transit will be piggybacking off of Charlotte Area Transit System's order. We will be getting 8 40 feet buses (pretty decent chance they'll be Gillig BRT Advantages) "CAT will purchase eight 40 foot buses by piggybacking on the Charlotte Area Transit contract. Each bus is estimated to have a price of $522,063." -Taken from the May 2016 Board Meeting.
  24. Good morning, my name is Maurice Boggs and I'm new to this site. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what qualifications are needed to edit transit rosters?
