I think @Bus_Medic's input on the statuses of the buses in the MIA thread are as good as up to date status confirmations, compared to what looks to be a consistently out of date or incorrect service summary.

Also, if a vehicle has their numbers and the TTC emblem scratched off, the interior looks in severe disarray, and all the seat bottoms of the vehicle have been harvested, I would consider that vehicle as good as decommissioned.

So to reiterate and confirm visual sightings of decommissioned VIIs, 1256, 1295, 1300, 1517, 1599, 1671 & 7807 are done and still around Harvey for part harvesting.

If I put this in chronogical order, it would be #1517 (2009/11-Arson), #1671 (2011-Fire), #1256 (c. 2013-fire IIRC, #7807 (2014-accident). Can you also put any more units as well to add with? The Wiki could have been updated to reflect it.

I know that H6's received red seats, flip-up accessible seats, and one center pole was removed. I believe the black paint around the headlights was removed on most, but not all, cars that still had it.

The H5s did the same but likely added flip out accessible seats on some cars.

    And don't forget internal announcers.

It was definitely an issue last year, it just wasnt as widespread as it is this year.

The thing that surprises me is that there hasnt been an increase in the number of delays related to the A/C issues.

I pretty sure agree with you 100%. At least they should have taken the ones without an A/C out of service until its resolved without customers complaining this issue.

But... why? This isn't an epidemic yet, it's just a bunch of buses that were decommissioned because they were expensive to repair or whatever. Making a thread like this at this point in time is as ludicrous as if someone had made a CLRV/ALRV retirement thread back in 2009, after they 86'ed 4063.

For the record, i'm planning to save this thread within the next year or two with the NG hybrids slated to begin retirement next year as depicted in Steve Munro's blog post in January

Yes, that was the school. But all the decals were removed. Sorry for the second picture, I was on the 108A bus and the window was dirty. I will try to take another picture if I'm available

It's safe to say Belka likely "purchased" it but I cannot confirm at the moment.

had to put my 2 cents about fare evasion

being in streetcar land, i see it happen with all types of people, rich and poor, male and female, young and old.  Kids have come on..laughing and saying they are 12 and we as operators cant do anything about it.  Just imagine the backlash and PR nightmare if an operator throws a child who is 12 but looks 16 and 17 off his car.  The media would be all over this, twisting the store and calling for a massive public town lynching of the operator.

my biggest gripe is with the fare enforcement officers. ive seen them on the end of the line of the good routes and rarely see them on the routes that have the most problems.  I m sure as operators we can tell them exactly what stops on a route or sections on a route where the most fare evasion happens and yet i never seen them patroling that section or route in the last couple of months.

i can also say from my observations, the fare enforcement officers rarely write up tickets... i mean ive seen people use so many different excuses and they just get a "warning", meanwhile these people walk away just laughing after being spoken to.

I had a discussion with a fellow operator and he mentioned that fare/transit officers in New York City are more respected then an actual New york cops with there no nonsense, strict fair attitude.  Our fare enforcement officers should be the same way, dont have a pop receipt..you get a ticket.  smoking on ttc property get a ticket. enter a station through a bus/streetcar entrance/exit..get a ticket.  too many times ive seen the  turn a blind eye

Fare officers should create an almost fear like atmosphere where if you get caught violating any of the infractions you will get punished...

In several occasions also I saw one or two persons entering or exiting the station illegally without even using the proper entrance. The most recent example was I saw a woman exiting Downsview Stn. through the terminal illegally last week. So much for by-law violations.

Those 97 could be split with Mount Dennis or Malvern, on the document it did show it was to replace 10 of the Orion VII First Generation Hybrids. But the order could have that Arrow Queensway spilt which i see Arrow loosing the rest of its Hybrids to that

Anyone have the link to the document?

I'm amused that Wilson or Birchmount isn't mentioned on the list. But problem is if the order goes Queensway, many of the 79/80xxs  migrate to other divisions. Same story with Arrow Road, new order pushes some 7900s and the remaining hybrids out of Arrow Road.

It's not the first gen but the NGs that are retiring first. The didn't refurbish all the first gens for them just to hit the scrap yard in a year.

MtD has the best routes for hybrids. As much as I would love to see some diesel buses at MtD, they are better off with hybrids. With exception of a few routes like 32A, 41E and 52. Malvern is not hybrid friendly at all. I won't be surprised if hybrids were last to retire at MtD.

I like it better when Malvern ran diesel-powered Orion Vs. Still no surprise they don't have any 40' Orion VII diesel buses (7400s or 7900s) in Malvern's fleet.

    Among the changes:

    • Many routes are starting at 8:00 am or earlier.
    • The biggest surprise is the 300 BLOOR-DANFORTH will be loading west at Kipling Stn. using the 192 AIRPORT ROCKET (300A/B) and terminating east at Kennedy Stn. sharing the 20 CLIFFSIDE and 113 DANFORTH bays instead of looping via North Service, South Service, Transway, and Kennedy continuing east at Eglinton.
    • Also at Kennedy, 334 EGLINTON EAST will load west using the 34 bay and east using the 86E/198 bay as well as 343 KENNEDY sharing the 43 bay.
    • 509 HARBOURFRONT and 511 BATHURST will turn back at Fleet Loop with shuttle buses head to the CNE.
    • As a result of constructions of Chaplin and Forest Hill, 33 FOREST HILL's looping will run clockwise instead of counterclockwise north on Spadina, west on Eglinton, north on Bathurst, east on Roselawn, east and south on Chaplin, west on Eglinton and south on Spadina to route.
    • 514 CHERRY will have one run using one Flexity car. Beginning 2017, the route will use the LFLRVs.
