  1. Are they opening the line using 2 car trains or just singles?
  2. Did Nova stopped delivering new buses temporarily while New Flyer is continuing en masse or just that nobody goes by Wilson and/or notices new Nova deliveries?
  3. I remember a while back (but well after the start of VIVA), the VIVA machines were still using Windows XP. Wonder if they ever upgraded those machines.
  4. Can't they use 9003 and 8573 for parts instead of a bus that's active and running?
  5. TTC updated their main system map to Sept 2023 but it still kept the Line 3 blue line even though it shows the 903's new routing right beside it. Why didn't they update and remove the Line 3 blue line since they clearly just updated the map?
  6. Does anyone know why Stouffville trains don't stop at Danforth or Scarborough Stn? Iirc, they used to stop there years ago.
  7. With the August 18 service change of non peak Stouffville and Barrie line trains, they still don't operate after PM rush or 7pm on all days. I remember before the June train reductions on these 2 lines, they did run until late evenings on all days. Does anyone know why they can't bring back evening services? Kind of weird if they are bringing train service back in time for CNE yet still don't have evening service. Many people who ride these lines to the CNE won't leave before 7pm and now require a shuttle bus to get home.
  8. What are the transfer privileges when using debit/credit on TTC? Does it have the presto 2h unlimited travel or the classic one direction no backtrack transfer restriction?
  9. Summer's AC usage eats into their battery reserves, winter's cold eats into their battery reserves... Not much time they can go at their full potentials since Spring and Fall are short seasons in Toronto. LOL
  10. This model eliminates 17 seats off the standard 57 seat D4500 (before the 2 wheelchair seats were fleet wide removed). That will make each GO D45 CRT LE have only 40 seats. At this rate you might as well buy the cheaper Xcelsior or LFS with 1 door and make have suburban style seats or stay with the DDs since the D45 CRT LE has the higher capital cost, higher fuel consumption, higher operating cost with the lower carrying capacity of a transit bus and the lower maneuverability of a 45ft bus. Almost like the worst of all worlds just to have easier wheelchair access and greater highway comfort for regular passengers.
  11. More interestingly is the current fleet utilization % which is at a historic low so why do they even need to put these new ones into service?
  12. So what you're saying is the lower deck having 24 seats (1 single forward facing and 6 pairs of forward facing) is the newer layout while the ones with 19 seats (no single forward facing and 4 pairs of forward facing) are the older layout? The luggage rack I meant was inside the bus itself. A few years ago a user here posted one of these DD buses have luggage racks inside the bus to be use on route 40 (similar to those 12 TTC buses to be use on route 900). Was this program cancelled for GO and whatever unit had the inside luggage racks converted back to standard seating on the lower deck?
  13. I was on a GO bus and noticed the lower level didn't have the standard seating layout. It had 5 less seats (2 pairs of forward facing and 1 single forward facing). As a result, the remaining forward facing seats had tons of legroom. Why was it done like this and how many units were done like this? What ever happened to those units equipped with luggage racks a few years ago? Do they still have them?
  14. I just looked at Transsee at 9am today and did a filter on 3700-3759. To my surprise, there's more Proterras in service than New Flyers. There's even 4 BYDs out. Are New Flyers (being the most reliable electric buses TTC has currently) having trouble recently?
  15. Why doesn't Brampton have this problem separating the regular buses from ZUM buses? Both branding started at the same year as the MiLocal and MiExpress.
  16. I briefly added all MtD buses. 129+40+51+25=245 buses After all NFI deliveries, the VII NG and LFSA movement to other garages and assuming the VII OGs will just retire and not move 134+68+25=227 buses They will end up with less buses than now
  17. That will have a net loss of total buses for MtD unless you factor in 18 more artics to bridge that gap of the current 50 artics they have.
  18. Are you sure the collided LRV was 6517? The Finch West LRT Twit posted today says 6517 was delivered today May 26 2023.
  19. It seems these too are equipped with the Insight seats like the Flyers. Going backwards from the 3100 series with those amazing high back seats.
  20. The video cuts out too fast so I couldn't see the fleet number of the one behind him. Are these units 4000-4001? If so, I thought they have already been out testing on the old route 34?
  21. Just heard on the news this morning (plus Steve's site wrote a small article) that TTC restored Lines 1 and 2 late night services back to every 6min all 7 days a week since they found more drivers to run them.
  22. And the LFSes don't have rooftop components (HVAC)?
  23. TTC contracts New Flyer for up to 565 hybrid-electric buses • SustainableBiz Canada • Sustainable Biz Canada Anyone think TTC will exercise the option for the additional 263 40ft and 100 60ft? More specifically the 100 60ft. The LFSAs is due to retire in a few years and they will need more artics to replace them. The first batch of electric buses awarded to NFI won't have any artics right?
  24. Does Mt Dennis have roof mounted charging facilities like Birchmount for the last 15 units of the Proterras? If not, will there be plans to bring these 15 units elsewhere to have them try out their rooftop charging method?
