  1. They need that stop. I go to the strip mall there often, and I hate how I get off at Valleymede and walk 10 minutes to Chalmers. On the other hand, beats the definition of VIVA once past Allstate...stops at all stops YRT stops in (I just used stops 3 times in 5 words wow...)
  2. 1- 233, 303, 573, 2051 40- 565 (still alive?) 85- 8912 Purple- 5109, 16, 26, 27 TTC 68- 6642
  3. In the afternoon yup. He PMed me saying my bus that I took (565) had some mechanical problems, so he switched to 304 around noon or so.
  4. Hmm...I noticed something similar as well in some other YRT stops (forgot which ones...). Might be repaving the stops somehow.
  5. Yeah...probably would paint it silver, like all the other subway cars.
  6. I just found out this minute I met YRT-Guy today, he was my driver on 40 today.
  7. Not bad of a map. @ Y-U-S: Extending to Bernard is a must. Hell, even north of RHC those VIVA buses get cramped a lot (I was in one today, and its a Sunday!) @ B-D Dundas: Is the East Mall stop near Cloverdale? Also, maybe put some trips to Milliken, and some north to Markville? @ Sheppard: I think the line can go west of Downsview to at least Weston...or east to at least UT Scarb @ Eglinton: Not bad. Might wanna rethink the folks at Mississauga, how they'll get to Pearson. @ Don Mills: If I still lived in my apartment in Flemingdon Park, thanks! But I'm not... Okay, good spot on where it ends, but perhaps extend north to Beaver Creek Business Park? @ Steeles: I think that can also be extended to Markville. @ Hurontario: What Orion VIII said. @ Queen: Long Branch might need a connection as well...
  8. Thanks you cleared some of my load. I was on 565 today (9:40 branch). Unsually a lot of people on. Here are the rest: TTC: 43- 7431 , 7521 (damn missed that bus!) 57- 7474 YRT: 85- 574, 576, 577 88- 334 91- 331 99- 579, 580, 581 NIS- 604 (at Woodbine/7), 607, 608 (at Finch) VIVA: Blue- 5207, 08 , 09, 13 , 15, 17, 20 (missed one...) Purple- 5110, 36, 50
  9. Yup, that's what I did to my map. 1 Line Express one-way, except it operates 7 days a week. BTW I also added a 2 Line Express, stopping at (from west to east): Square One, Dixie, Cloverdale, Kipling, Islington, Royal York, Jane, Keele, Dundas West, Lansdowne, Dufferin, Ossington, Bathurst, Spadina, St. George, Bay, Yonge, Sherbourne, Broadview, Pape, Coxwell, Main Street, Victoria Park, Warden, Kennedy, Scarborough Centre, Sheppard, Finch, Steeles, Highway 7. Also, I don't know how to explain this, but TTC should do something like New York, instead of Northbound, southbound, etc. we use Toronto bound, downtown bound, scarborough bound, etc. So it would be like this: 1 Line UP DOWN @ Bernard ---- Toronto Bound @ Steeles Richmond Hill Bound Downtown Bound @ Union Richmond Hill Bound Vaughan Bound @ Steeles West Downtown Bound Vaughan Bound @ Vaughan Mills Toronto Bound ------- 2 Line UP DOWN @ Square One ----- Toronto Bound @ Cloverdale Mississauga Bound Downtown Bound @ Yonge Mississauga Bound Scarborough Bound @ Scarborough Centre Downtown Bound Markham Bound @ Highway 7 Toronto Bound -------- 3 Line UP DOWN @ Airport ----- North York Bound @ Yonge Airport Bound Scarborough Bound @ Rouge Hill North York Bound -------- 4 Line UP DOWN @ Shoppers World ----- Vaughan Bound @ Vaughan Corporate Brampton Bound Richmond Hill Bound @ Richmond Hill Ctr Vaughan Bound Markham Bound @ Cornell Richmond Hill Bound ------- 5 Line UP DOWN @ Port Credit ----- Toronto Bound @ Long Branch Mississauga Bound Downtown Bound @ Yonge Mississauga Bound Scarborough Bound @ Rouge Hill Downtown Bound ------- 6 Line UP DOWN @ Airport ------ North York Bound @ Yonge Airport Bound Scarborough Bound @ Markham Road North York Bound -------- 7 Line UP DOWN @ Unionville GO ------- Toronto Bound @ Steeles Markham Bound North York Bound @ Sheppard Markham Bound Downtown Bound @ Eglinton North York Bound Downtown Bound @ Queen North York Bound -------- 8 Line UP DOWN @ Shoppers World ------- Mississauga Bound @ Square One Brampton Bound Southbound @ Port Credit Northbound ------- EDIT: Ok it didn't show that good, but I hope you get my point.
  10. Not possible, there aren't any Orion VIIs at Malvern.
  11. Here's one to scale, bit in a bad quality: Express Stations on 1 Express (from RH to Downtown): Bernard Major Mack 16th Richmond Hill Centre Clark Steeles Finch Sheppard York Mills Eglinton St. Clair Bloor College Dundas Queen King Union Proposal I might consider: Extend the 6 Line west along Derry Road, ending at Hurontario.
  12. I'm in the process of drawing a scaled subway map. I have a GTA map that I can use, but it's of poor quality. Does anyone have a good GTa map they can scan or link for me? Thanks.
  13. Here's a map of how it would be like (note: map not to scale):
  14. Yups. My school website Am I in Arts York? Unfortunately, no. Damn you have all such easy tests... and yes, I took Food and Nutrition.
  15. Sorry, I meant Royal Orchard would be more popular than Centre Street
  16. Clark is definitely necessary. I'll probably take out Weldrick and Elgin Mills. 90 can go up to Bernard, only waste 5 mins. I'll take out Bantry/Scott. I'll keep Royal Orchard, because it attracts more customers than Centre IMO. Ok eliminate that stop. From Square One: Southeast to Hurontario/Burhamthorpe, cut through the Mississauga Valley Park to Central Pkwy/Bloor (Central Pkwy Station), continue on Bloor (Cawthra, Tomken, Dixie Stations, but I might take away Cawthra), before the Etobicoke Creek, line slopes down to Dundas, meeting at just before the 427 (Cloverdale Mall), then follow parallel the GO tracks to Kipling. All stations between Woodbine Centre and Islington would be at Rexdale. After Islington, line would slope up, with a station at Albion/Elmhurst, then northeast thru the Humber River to Sheppard. East of Agincourt, continue to Midland (I find it annoying that 190 has no stop at Midland), then slope down to Brimley/Progress, and into Scarborough Centre. Then, back up, meeting back Sheppard at Markham Road. Line follows Kingston Road after Coxwell. Serves the Beach and East Scarborough well. Skyway would be at Skyway and Galaxy loop. (I might have minor issues with the length of the subway carts in this line) Start at Unionville GO, west to serve the future Markham Centre, turn south at Warden, serve 14th and Denison, slope southwest, serve Metro Square at Steeles/Ferrier (or keep the Esna stop, haven't decided on that), continue southwest to McNicoll, Seneca College, and down Don Mills to Sheppard. And continue down Don Mills to O'Connor, and use Greenwood to meet Danforth. And maybe continue down Greenwood to Gerrard and Queen. Whoops, typo past Port Credit. All stops at Hurontario. Post edited above.
  17. (This has been explained in Transit Toronto, but I wanna throw it here as well) How would you situate your 'sci-fi' subway lines, if GTTA happens tomorrow? Here's mine: Yonge-University-Spadina (1 Line): Bernard Elgin Mills Crosby Major Mackenzie Weldrick 16th-Carrville Bantry-Scott Richmond Hill Centre Royal Orchard Centre Street Clark Steeles Finch Regular routing until... 18. I have October 9th off. And today. @ D Yip: It's not fun when you have Science, Civics, Comp Sci, and Food Safety Test all in one day...
  19. Ah...the 6 Train... *doors open* This is the Manhattan bound 6 local train (I never take express). The next stop is, Grand Central-42nd Street. Stand clear of the closing doors please! *ding dong, ding dong, doors close* Damn, I want this in Toronto!!! I seriously cried when I left NYC.
  20. Some are female, some are male. The female one, I believe, is the same one used for VIVA. Her name is Crystal.
  21. I get this on the 510 Spadina as well sometimes. Last Sunday (yeah...that day), when 10 cars came at once, I took the first one (b/c I'm too lazy to wait), and I was one of the last ones on. The driver then said, "Everyone, please move as back as possible." Noone moves. Driver, "I see a lot of room at the back, we're not going anywhere unless you move back." Noone moves. Driver, "We can stay all day if you want." Slight movement. Driver: *sigh, closes doors*
  22. Toronto: If it weren't for the shit transit they have (uggh...even York Region has better transit, at least it has 2 hour policy), I probably would enjoy it. I don't mind the pollution, I'm immune to health-related problems. Vancouver: Minus the weather, my second home. Edmonton: Haven't been there. Calgary: Love the city. C Train rocks, Calgary Flames are my 3rd fav team. Montreal: Probably the only city in Quebec I dare going. New York: MY FAVOURITE CITY TO VACATION. I'll never forget the Lexy Trains (I know it's Lex, but I call it Lexy b/c it sounds cool). Missed Jess's voice so much. Philly: Not bad, but too warm for me. Washington: Same as Philly, too warm for me. Atlantic City: Another city I fell in love with. Actually, I fell in love with New Jersey. Love going shopping there, no taxes!
