  1. As a regular TransLink rider, I just have to appreciate how BC Transit's next stop voice is so much better than the CMBC next stop voice. The BC Transit voice is much closer to human speech, vs the robotic, often unclear voice on CMBC.
  2. Titan Airways A321neo G-GBNI visited YVR yesterday on a tech stop from Toronto on its way to Hawaii. It was chartered for the Royal Air Force.
  3. Given the postponement of in-person classes at UBC, expect the entry of service of articulated buses on the 84 to be pushed further this month, due to lower demand.
  4. Flying on the X-Plane 11 flight simulator on an Air New Zealand Dash 8 from Christchurch to Queenstown. There's so much fun about flight simulators in general.
  5. Is Hamilton usually the place where new buses are received? As far as I know I think some of these will be transferred to Vancouver for service on the 84.
  6. Archbishop Desmond Tutu dies at 90. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-59793726
  7. Sources say there was a train fire at Templeton station, resulting in the closure of the YVR branch. Very hard to prove what happened as so far, no one has sent pictures of the situation (very unusual in the age of social media)
  8. It's different as it's the Arial font, which doesn't look as nice as the custom TransLink font
  9. This was on December 13, it was the 150th anniversary of the birth of Emily Carr, Canada's most famous artist.
  10. Travelled on BC Ferries from Victoria to Vancouver today after a 2 night stay in Victoria to celebrate Emily Carr's 150th birthday.
  11. One of the new units were spotted in Arizona, which is strange as there appears not to be an ADL-related plant there. The units will be numbered 21401-21425. It was photographed together with a Las Vegas unit. - https://www.instagram.com/p/CXI2iY_FeEK/ Also, has any unit from this 2021 order arrived at any of CMBC's facilities yet, and whether there's a definitive delivery schedule?
  12. Here's the tweet in question: Also in the Vancouver transit discord someone posted of seeing a TransLink XDE60 from the new order in Montana.
  13. Singapore Airlines made its inaugural flight to YVR today!
  14. Blame BlogTO for reporting it late then, shouldn't have relied on it in the first place
  15. 3728 detached from tow truck today, hitting a fence https://www.blogto.com/city/2021/11/ttc-bus-careens-fence-breaking-free-tow-truck/
  16. I'm glad about this court decision. Transit is one of the highest risk environments for covid to spread and seeing a union oppose vaccine mandates really tells us a sign that this union does not care about its workers, allowing them to be put in harm's way, and casting a negative light on the image of unions to the general public. Remember: this is the same union that opposed driverless operation on the Scarborough RT. While unions in general are useful to improving the working conditions for employees, this is not one of them. Also, regarding service cuts relating to unvaccinated employees, how much of an extent is this affecting other transit authorities across the country? Why is the media so fixated on the situation in Toronto but not elsewhere?
  17. This is old news, the LFSe+ was released last year, it's just that this site reposted it that late. TransLink CMBC ordered 15 of these late last year for delivery next year.
  18. 7419 to VTC reentered service again on the 9 today. Was a training unit. Photo from Transit Vancouver discord by user dest007#3946:
  19. Seeing one more D40LF go back into service is definitely a great thing to see.
