  2. Updates to Hamilton Transit History

I made a great find on Flickr of old CCL photos, and as a result I've been able to create three new CCL bus pages: The CCL's fleets of Motor Coach Industries MCC-5A, General Motors S8M-5304A, and Flxible 29BI-47 buses. I've also added photos to the existing pages on the Canuck 600A, SDM-4502, TDM-4515, PD-4104, ICWD-29, MC-5B, MC-9, and Miscellaneous CCL Buses.

July's update was the filling in the details behind the construction of the Hamilton and Barton Incline Railway (James Street Incline), June's update was fixing up the long neglected YouTube page. If you've got a Youtube vid you'd like to share, let me know. https://www.youtube.com/user/HamTransitHistory

  6. So we all know that Toronto's Streetcar network is smaller than it used to be. It's the result of about 30 years of route abandonments up until 1972, followed by new service on Queens Quay, and the return of service on Spadina. Having looked at Sean Marshall's collection of TTC streetcar route maps, I started wondering: Assuming there was no streetcar abandonment policy after WWII, what would the streetcar network look like today? https://seanmarshall.ca/2017/01/11/mapping-torontos-street-railways-in-the-ttc-era-1921-2016/ We'd still have lost some routes. Bloor, Yonge, Church and Bay would all have been replaced with subways. Some streetcar routes like Coxwell and Parliament would still be around, and we'd likely have streetcar service to Pape Station. But what of the other routes? Do we still have trolley bus routes replacing streetcars in 1947/48 north of Bloor? Or would the 516 Weston streetcar run from Wilson Ave to Dundas West station?
  7. Updates to Hamilton Transit History

I've added photos and/or details to the following pages: The Hamilton and Barton Incline Railway (James Street Incline), The Mount Hamilton Incline Railway/Wentworth Street Incline Railway (East-End Incline), 1892-Electrification of the HSR: From Horses to Horsepower, Early HSR Streetcars, and How Many HSR Horsecars Were Converted To Streetcars?
  8. Hamilton Street Railway

Have any DARTS SOM27D's been sold recently? Saw this at a gas station at Danforth & Patricia in Toronto on Feb 8. With the stripes on the back and the Trans-Air HVAC it looks like one of the buses in the 410616-410625 range
  9. Updates to Hamilton Transit History

One of the first articles I ever wrote for this website was a piece of alternate history describing what Hamilton would be like if it had kept its streetcars. I've added to the story to take into account what I have learned over the last few years. Be advised that I have not advanced the alternate timeline, as I (along with everyone else) am waiting to see what happens with the LRT proposal. I've also made updates to the articles on the HSR's paintschemes and Minibus fleets pages. Also, the January update was a new page on the HSR's fleet of Nova Bus Corporation LFS Natural Gas buses
  10. Updates to Hamilton Transit History

  11. Miscellaneous TTC Discussion & Questions

5 1/2 years ago, I created my own list Biggest differences are -No route name changes -I proposed to replace the 107 with a two-way loop between Finch West and Downsview (Sheppard West). Instead, the TTC wants to merge the 117 with the 107B south of Finch, and have the 107 run to Pioneer Village via Petrolia Rd. -I still had the 60C and the 106 going into campus en route to Pioneer Village station. Instead, the TTC is routing the 41 through campus
