  1. Nope, just leave us alone with all Novas, no problem. We're happy.
  2. It is certainly not "up to the driver". And when these losers call in and say you were rude (though in fact you were not), you are going to get in trouble. And I will not. Fare collection has always been and will always be a game that as an oeprator you cannot win. It take some guys longer to figure it our than others, and of course some never figure it out. Stress yourself out trying if you must. It used to bother me as well and it took a few years for my think skull to absorb that the company is telling us not to worry about it. We all took the FIDO course where it was very clearly spelled out that we are to "inform, not enforce". Sorry to offend those who mean well, but as a now retired driver once said, "This is the only job I've ever had where the best way to do your job is to not do your job". My attitude is not sh***y at all, I just do what those who pay my wage expect of me. And I stay out of trouble.
  3. This is what you do if you want to ride GRT for free. Just refuse to pay. Drivers must let you ride. That's the policy.
  4. I went to Strasburg the other night and here are my sightings ..... 2300, 2301, 2302, 2303, 2304, 2305, 2306, 2307, 2308, 2309, 2310 ...... to be continued. 2311, 2312, 2313, 2314, 2315, 2316, 2317, 2318, 2319, 2320, 2321, 2322, 2323 ..... to be continued.
  5. Shoulda kept a fishbowl instead of that POS 793.
  6. All junk, just like the day they showed up from the factory.
  7. 21301 still in the Cambridge garage at 0530 this morning, has not moved since Monday.
  8. 21301 was in Cambridge Monday morning for show and tell. Dunno if it's still there or not.
  9. 9203 & 9210 are going to Tri-County driver training as GRT begins to convert Wal-Mart greeters into bus drivers.
  10. No, 5 more years. GRT is now on a 12-year replacement program although since implemented there is some catching up to do. Almost there though !
  11. 2605 $125G to fix, it isn't even worth that much.
  12. More Sunday service, more junior guys working Sundays. Sucks to be them, but indeed that is how it should be, if the service has to be there. Argue all you want about "that's part of the job" etc etc, but I still remember before Sunday shopping came it and we had 12 buses out on a Sunday (five Mainline, four Loops, 2 Queen South/Stanley Park, and 1 Country Hills. Victoria Hills and Lincoln/Lakeshore came later. People should ride bikes on Sunday.
  13. Just don't see the point of risking someone falling under the wheels and the ensuing inquest and lawsuit. Call me old fashioned but when it goes bad the driver will be blamed. Always does at GRT.
  14. How do we know that if GRT is indeed going New Flyer that they are XDE's and not just XD's ?
