  1. That’s some good overtime.
  2. Not sure exactly what the process is but as soon as they’re decaled up, they’ll be on the road. Perhaps we might see the first ones out this week!
  3. 8522 sorry I posted this picture in another post
  4. New Novas about to go into service and new shuttles on the way
  5. The damage on the bus actually looks a lot worse than it is it’s going to definitely need a new front end and has been pushed in a bit. I didn’t get too many angles. I was in a rush to get home… I’ll try again Monday
  6. This was the derailment back on opening weekend that involved 2002 and a bunch of other cars
  7. Most likely fooling around with the destination signs. Probably looked really cool back in the early 80s to dream that the system could one day be extended that far out
  8. Incidentally enough that car was involved in a derailment and got significantly damaged on opening day.
  9. 6029 hasn’t been in service since October and that Bus is out of Victoria Park. Whereabouts did you see it being towed southbound on Ogden? My guess would be it’s sustained a significant breakdown (drivetrain) and it’s probably on its way to Wajax (correct me if I’m wrong people) to be repaired. I’ve seen numerous Calgary Transit buses, and even Banff Roam Transit buses there. I’ll see if it ended up there tomorrow.
  10. The signage on those cars (and the refurbs) have been glitchy since day one. For example, When the next station announcements come on after departing the station, the exterior signage will go blank while the announcement is announcing the next station. Then the signage will come back on.
  11. At least they’re being honest basically telling everyone there’s gonna be some serious and significant delays. There can also be a chance that they can have everything done sooner…. Wait who am I kidding here?!?! I hope the weather cooperates.
  12. Sometimes if a train breaks down they will use the tail track to get them out of the way. If trains get backed up during an emergency distruption they will park the trains at the tail tracks until there’s a time that they can move them back into service or back to the garage. Trains are also stored at the tail tracks to be used as a remote storage location as well.
  13. Just to clarify, this is a series 6 and series 8 mixed consist!!
  14. Looks like 2328-2319-2218 just came online for a test drive from Anderson north.
  15. Being built as we speak. We should start a new thread!
  16. What’s really amazing about this bus is that his wife gifted him $10,000! That’s more rare than the actual of us itself!
  17. Not to worry no one is coming at you. A foamer is somebody that “drools” in awe when a train, or a bus goes by. It’s safe to say that we are all foamers here. You are among friends that enjoy the hobby.
  18. I remember that thing… I actually rode it when it ran in Edmonton in old Strathcona during a long weekend demonstration. At the time the Edmonton Radial Railway never ran down that section until a few years later. We hopped on near the Strathcona barns, and it ran to the 109th Street tunnel. it was super cool unfortunately I never had the chance to see it in Calgary.
  19. I was wondering about those trains. Hope to see a mixed consist soon!
  20. That was a very well put video! Definitely some memorable Calgary Transit history! Something that was not mentioned was the “not so famous” derailment that happened on opening weekend that not too many people know about because it was under wraps in Calgary. Here’s a very rare newspaper clip about the incident.
  21. Ah yes…. The good old rubber-stamped medical note. I remember back in the day when I used to drive Jimmy’s, MCI’s and some Newflyers… they either had Recaro seats or USSC seats. Operators would get doctors notes saying they can only drive buses with Recaro seats. There is not one Recaro seat in the fleet, wonder what happened to those operators that couldn’t be accommodated? Yes, the USSC seats suck.. they are annoyingly firm and not the most comfortable seat, if they’re working properly, that’s another story. The U2s have the worst seats in the fleet, oddly enough I found them very comfortable. As far as the rest of the Ctrain fleet (SD160s) you guessed it USSC seats fixed to the floor with no suspension. I certainly hope that the Series 10s get an improvement from the series 9 seats. Those things are horrific… a serious safety / health hazard.
