*checks notes* Until tonight, Langley Centre may have been the last major hub to service a TransLink Novabus (including Poco's DPF unit).

Scheduled long term detours for the 502/503/395/345 to 96/king George were supposed to start today but yet again there seems to be a mixup between the city, its contractors and TransLink …which resulted in buses doing the regular Fraser highway routing

Bunch of trip cancellations in Surrey shuttle routes this AM due to a fatal MVA on the patullo bridge

I was just pondering, why not have an extension of the 405/407 into river district? Reasoning: there has to be some compensation for the cancellation of the R7, maybe this can be done on the Vancouver side Also, regarding the 20X in the proposal, the planners were debating where to send the Richmond-Expo Line express. I remember Broadway Station being an option but I’m not entirely sure.

If we're talking 49 in Champlain heights, The "New E" route seems to be responsible for that, there are similarities to the old 49 between kerr and tyne. I am still vividly confused about the 31/146 proposal though. If the 31 just takes over the 146 route, the current route should be displayed as a dashed line, then show new route D on top heading to Joyce station.

yeah it seems a little bit ironic how they're using this plan to get started on the phibbs-metrotown corridor rapid transit route. However, I feel like this is something they've been wanting to do for ages. I.e. you want to go to north shore east/Mountain highway but there's 0 buses at Burrard Station for hours on end. I also feel like you don't really solve anything because everything that goes to Phibbs would be delayed anyways during a major traffic disruption. What could be solved if Seabus was made one zone?

BIG Burrard Area Transit Plan just dropped. Something like 50 routes are to undergo changes in the long term. https://www.translink.ca/-/media/translink/documents/plans-and-projects/area-planning/burrard-peninsula/bpatp---phase-2-discussion-guide.pdf I may as well list them and edit as I go. The listing is rather inconvenient for people interested in changes by the bus route rather than how they are changing it. Each route has a map in the survey link though. https://translink.simplesurvey.com/f/s.aspx?s=28B24CA2-2A8A-45B2-B14F-00D863EEBAF2&ds=qoI1ORKgyB Anyways: 4: Split into 4W and 4E 4W redirects to VCC-Clark Station 4E will just be Waterfront Station to Powell then Renfrew, Hastings to Kootenay Loop. May as well install wires and not deal with IMC for such a short distance 8: Run Main Street to Marine Drive Station, omit downtown New wires: Main Street to Terminal, Quebec, National. Extend to Marine Drive Station 9: Various Extend to UBC most of the year Extend eastern terminus to Brentwood Station 14: Permanent deletion Between 4th avenue and UBC, use the 4 Between Broadway/10th and Granville Street, use the 9 Between Downtown and Kootenay Loop, use the 16 R5 stop added to Windermere Street (took LONG ENOUGH to solve that kerfuffle) 15: Terminate the 15 at Moberly Loop, turn around heading southbound. Sever interline with route 50 16: Split into two routes Eastern section Maintains 29th Avenue Station to Downtown Western section routes via Burrard Street to Broadway Restore Broadway routing on western section Effectively this routing lasts only three blocks since there is no more 16 on Granville Extend to Marine Drive Station via Angus 17: Retain current routing via 12th Also terminate at Waterfront Station along Cordova 19: Redirect to Cordova Again, this depends what the city does with Cordova in Gastown 20: Extend to River District Also reduce turnaround, omit Granville Street portion and turnaround at Waterfront Station 23: Extend to second beach Here is a map of the proposed route. 26: From Boundary at 49th, continue Boundary to Vaness, Joyce Station Personally I would split from Matheson and extend both ends to River District. Here is a map of the proposed route. 29: Extend from Elliott to River District I also think this is a missed opportunity, they should send this bus through East Kent Avenue to serve the Fraser River shoreline. Here is a map of the proposed route. 31: Combine with the 146 For this one, I think you need a second route number because the route is shared on Willingdon north of Imperial/49th Here is a map of the proposed route. 42: Extend route to South Granville Station. From 4th at Alma, continue 4th to Cornwall, Burrard Street, Broadway to South Granville Here is a map of the proposed route. 44: Maintain routing and service span, increase frequency I think this is in absence of 84 down 4th 50: Sever interline with route 15 New routing from South Granville Station to 2nd, Granville Island, Laneys Mill to current Olympic Village station, then via 2nd, Main, Cordova to Waterfront Station. Depends on what the city does with Gastown Here is a map of the proposed route. 68: Two-way service on West Mall Discontinue SW Marine Drive portion 80: Extend to 22nd Street Station 101 is relocated to Edmonds Maintain River District routing, just exit/enter at Sawmill 84: They are unsure whether or not to discontinue this route. 99: Retain service Arbutus to UBC, discontinue trips to Boundary Self-explanatory with the Broadway Subway 101: Reroute most of route through New Westminster and send to Edmonds Station from Cariboo, via 16th, 6th Street, then duplicate 106 to Edmonds Station 102: Extend one-way loop in uptown. Here is a map of the proposed route. 103: From Quayside, route via overpass, 12th Street, 4th Avenue to Queens Park, return. Here is a map of the proposed route. 110: Extend to 29th Ave Station From Willingdon, continue Moscrop, then Boundary to 29th to 29th Avenue Station 116: Forego circuit in South Burnaby Route via Patterson, Rumble, Sussex in both directions 131: Extend via Willingdon, Eton to Boundary 132: Discontinue route Here is a map of the proposed discontinuation. 133: Route through Burnaby Lake (current 144) in addition to: Route via new Holdom overpass From Edmonds Station, via Salisbury, Walker, Burris, then Burnaby Lake park routing 134: From Hastings to Sperling, reroute via Kensington instead of Sperling Here is a map of the propsed route. 136: New Holdom Overpass Extend via Still Creek, Dawson to Brentwood Station The big one here is Still Creek industrial area, the 28 isn't enough to cover the area 144: Reroute in Burnaby via Royal Oak, Gilpin 145: Discontinue route 146: Discontinue route and combine with route 31. Here is a map of the proposed route. 148: Discontinue Marine Drive routing Expand coverage to Big Bend industrial Area TLDR Gilley, Byrne, Glenlyon to Marine Way, Nelson Here is a map of the proposed route. 209/210/211/214: Discontinue service south of Burrard Inlet Replace with new J route 209 is discontinued entirely 257 Extension to Main Street Station Is Stadium Station unsuitable of a location nowadays? My guess is that it is much more seamless to promote a connection at PAC with other long distance bus e.g. from the states, BC interior R2: Extension to Metrotown Station Exact alignment in northern burnaby TBD Brentwood area is the leading factor in this routing R5: New stop at Windermere Street to cover for the 14 ===SEVEN NEW EXPRESS ROUTES=== ...along with route number proposals... 19X: Express from Main Street Station to Metrtotown Station. My pick: 89 20X: Route 20 Express on proposed alignment: Waterfront Station to River District My pick: 82 25X: Express on current route 25 My pick: 85 49X: Express on current route 49 My pick: 81 (9x9) 123X: Express on current 123 My pick: 124 (18x is poco area) 240X: Express on current 240 Reintroduce 29x that were abolished in 2011/12, this gets 293 250X: Express on current 250 to Dundarave Same as above, assign 295 ===NEW ROUTES=== New A Main Street Station to First Avenue, Douglas, to Brentwood Station Here is a map of the proposed route Notice how the route goes past Brentwood. My proposed route number: 11 or 111 New B Broadway Station to Commercial, 12th, Boundary, Canada Way, Goring to Holdom Station Here is a map of the proposed route. My proposed route number: 12 or 122 It is entirely possible this route operates through to New A. That way, a single relief is only required at GVT (Broadway Station). New C Waterfront Station to Georgia Street, then route 1 'Round The Park Here is a map of the proposed route Route 1 should be the defacto route number. if they choose route 21 then there's some table flipping to do New D River District, then via 31 to Champlain Ct, then Tyne to Kingsway, Joyce. Addresses coverage lost from sending the 26 to Boundary Here is a map of the proposed route My proposed route number: anything that's 24, 30, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39 New E Metrotown to Langara-49th Station Via current route 49, then Arlington, 54th, 57th, Main, 49th to Terminus Here is a map of the proposed route 54 is the only route number option for this route New F Marine Drive Station, then Cambie, 57th, SW Marine Drive to Dunbar Loop Here is a map of the proposed route 57 is the only route number option for this route New G (gee gee gee gee baby baby baby) Oakland/Gilley to Edmonds/Metrotown Coverage recovery over lost portions of 144 Here is a map of the proposed route 140, 141, or 142 are suitable route numbers New H Braid to 22nd via 10th Is there any way you're fitting bus stops on former BC highway 1a? Here is a map of the proposed route This is where I think route 120, 121, 122 are appropriate New I West 33rd Avenue via Dunbar, 33rd, then current 33 routing to Main, then to Broadway Station Here is a map of the proposed route 37 seems like a good fit New J Burrard/Phibbs EXPRESS Here is a map of the proposed route 202 or 207 seems like good numbers New K Renfrew EXPRESS to Phibbs Exchange Skip Kootenay Loop This would eliminate need for 16 and 210 PNE Express Here is a map of the proposed route 216 seems like a good number New Intercampus Shuttle at SFU IDK where this thing goes but think of it as a 68 for SFU Burnaby Mountain. ===Terminals=== River District: 31, 80, then 20, 20X, NEW D Marine Drive Station: 3, 10, 80, 100, then 8, 16, New F I wonder if that car dealership is demolished, or they install additional layover along the east end of the loop Dunbar loop: 2, 7, then New F and New I I think 7 has to increase service to cover loss of route 14 Granville Street: Not a terminus but after all is said and done, the only routes along Granville Street are the 10 and 7. Wild concept: Keep the planned 44/99 until 10am. The rest of the day from about 10am, you can just send the 99 downtown via Burrard Street. JFC this took almost two hours to summarize

They sent 19040 to Vancouver I don’t think it’s a botched road change, however it’s run was originally assigned to 8142

Major topic was brought up recently, the TransLink BRT project. Two lines are proposed: 1) A King George BRT that will replace the R1. This runs Surrey Central to White Rock Centre. 2) A Willowbrook-Carvolth-Haney BRT. This roughly resembles the 595 before the Fall 2012 Timetable revision minus Maple Meadows Station. https://www.translink.ca/plans-and-projects/projects/rapid-transit-projects/bus-rapid-transit Quick thoughts on the King George BRT: I assume the truncated Fleetwood-Guildford-104th service will run 6tph minimum, given this takes place post-Langley SkyTrain. A Stop should be added between 64th and 56th, maybe at 60th avenue. Quick thoughts on the Golden Ears BRT: Until Willoughby/Maple Ridge have a lot more stuff to do outside of residential area, I think the baseline frequency is looking like every 15 minutes all day.

Track issue in gateway area, therefore: Surrey Central-King George for redundancy, then King George to Gateway, Gateway to Waterfront. Trains run 10 trips/hour on the Gateway-Waterfront section. 19005, 18018, 18047 are supplemental bus bridge buses. as of 18:00 it’s Waterfront to Scott Road/Gateway alter-you know what, idk anymore

2023-2025 Standard 40' CNG Bus Procurement (Nova Bus LFS CNG)

Section seems to be dead: The bus funeral procession for late operator Shawn Yim took place Friday Morning with over 60 buses participating. 4th avenue was a sight to behold, it was XDE60 after XDE60 after XDE60. Pierce, Grays Harbor, Everett, Intercity, Mason, Community (Lynnwood), Spokane were among those that made an appearance. TransLink could not send a bus per USDOT and insurance difficulties; instead, a CANTRAIL bus drove BC representatives down for the memorial service at Lumen Field. Attached below is a picture on Reddit of the north parking lot.

Unsure. Also, I find that in this case, we started a thread with the right info but since then five years passed with no update.

Transit in Vancouver: Questions and Answers
Express691 replied to Enviro 500's topic in Metro Vancouver
You can’t roam or interline as well as you’d like especially when your headways reach minimum 4 trips/hour for most of the day. Most of the stuff doing 6 trips/hour is its own back/forth work except in the late evenings. -
Transit in Vancouver: Questions and Answers
Express691 replied to Enviro 500's topic in Metro Vancouver
Reverse on the branding part, Seattle comes to mind - countless normal buses appear on RapidRide routes every single day in addition to the reverse - i.e. RR units on ST, standard KCM routes etc etc. Same thing goes for MiWay with whatever they have going on not being followed -

I was so close to using this as a GIS project but so many things went sideways in that course. Besides, you have to account for unscheduled changes such as mechanical issues, snow days, delays requiring bus shuttles, police incidents, extra unscheduled work (fireworks) and operational issues such as TET and operator availability. Factoring in these, there are some doubts whether or not it is worth studying deadhead routing. As for how to actually do that, you'd have to obtain a geodatabase for all the relevant bus stops per depot, query the bus stops that are used as termini, then cross-reference that to every single block/run requested via FOI. Then you'd have to translate that to how much leverage each final stop before/after deadheading. Next is manually plotting the yard on the map (which needs to be formatted etc etc), then you get an average distance from the sum of the entire distance from all buses deadheading from each of their final stops expressed as a radius from each transit yard. Rinse and repeat reflecting each yard opening (and I guess for every consolidated sign-up). Then you have to calculate the amount of fuel/electricity burned by each type of bus. And then if you want operational costs, the wage of each driver driving the bus to and from their yard (you're never going to get this info lmao). -
