Some recent photos of GOVA Transit as of late 2019. There has been lots of mixed reviews on the changes that happened on August 26, 2019. I have heard from several people that they have screwed up GOVA Transit for everyone. Few people said it was good but in my own perspective they need to fix the routes and have smoother times for people that want to transfer on a bus travelling from outside the city limits for example if you are travelling out to Capreol or Naughton plus Chelmsford including areas in between the those areas that the buses run far as transit goes. GOVA has been currently repainting some of the buses into the GOVA scheme. A scheme with bright colours and it stands out more than the previous dark green and gold scheme. Buses repainted into the GOVA Livery as the list follow: 770 791 812 852 855 873 881 883

GOVA Transit #791 (2009 NovaBus LFS 3rd Generstion) is seen on layover at South End Walmart on the first day of the newly revamped transit system in Greater Sudbury. Changes to the whole system took effect August 26. 791 is the first bus to be redone into the new GOVA livery. Route 1 is a new route going from South End Walmart to New Sudbury Centre.

August 26 marks the day that Greater Sudbury Transit becomes GOVA Transit. Changes are beginning to happen at the transit terminal. All of the current route signs have been replaced with new route signs. Exterior signage has been replaced in the past couple of days. One of the NovaBus LFS’s was repainted into the new GOVA livery. 791 is the first bus to have the new scheme. No word on new buses yet but 751-753 are still active. Most of the bus stop signs are beginning to be replaced and a new fleet of Handi-Transit buses have hit the road. I will have a list of all the routes and the current fare structure coming soon.

Greater Sudbury Transit #752 (2005 NovaBus LFS 2nd Generation) is seen here parked at the Transit Terminal this afternoon. 751-753 are now the oldest series of buses in the city’s transit fleet. It’s unknown how long these 3 are going to stick around for.

Apparently Greater Sudbury Transit is being renamed GOVA as of next month when the new routes come into effect. A brand new livery was unveiled on Tuesday. So I finally graduated high school and it was pretty nice getting to know all the friends I made within the past 4 years. I also signed up for a paid training program at the YMCA Youth Job Connection in Sudbury. I'm excited to see what the paid training program has to offer!

I did not see the Orion VII in service unfortunately. I was only in North Bay for about 2 hours today. I will be going back to North Bay in a few weeks depending how busy I am.

On my way back from North Bay I managed to see another TEMSA unit in Sturgeon Falls. Unit #L1909 Did Ontario Northland go with TEMSA instead of MCI? I’m curious if this is actually a demonstrator or they bought it brand new.

I decided to check out what the transit system was like in North Bay. I got a few photos of 770 (2008 D40LF) and I went for a ride on two of the XD40’s from the transit terminal to Northgate Shopping Centre. There will be a video uploaded to my YouTube channel sometime tonight.
