    TTC Orion VII Retirements

State of good repair is similar to an MTO except the scope also entails clearing off all the little squeak and rattle stuff before it piles up. Or at least that’s the intent.

    TTC in the news

They’re too new. Those statistics don’t exist yet.

    2018 Standard 40' Bus Procurement

Toronto is pulling theirs, again, as I type this....I’d expect CMBC to follow.

    Ontario Northland

🤦‍♂️. The ministry of northern development and mines is provincial jurisdiction. They (Ontario northland) tender purchases (or apparently, leasing- thanks for the info @Articulated ) same as any other publicly funded entity, and unless something changes in the not too distant future, are completely distinct and separate from metrolinx. 3 seconds on google would have explained that.

Ontario Northland is a crown corporation administered by the ministry of Northern Development and Mines. They also have more than a handful of MCI products in the fleet, so I haven’t the foggiest idea what you’re on about.

Don’t believe everything you read. The CBC is only as accurate as it's source.
  7. I find it very interesting that it took a property outside Quebec to first bring the issue to light, mere weeks ago. Less than a month after placing them in service...despite Quebec customers operating these same vehicles for a couple of years. The stench of politics permeates the air.

    2019 Nova LFS Order

That’s an extra electrically applied air valve acting on the brake interlock, similar to cycling the rear doors. Set to apply after a predetermined (customer specified) time following no activity from the speedo signal (transmission output sensor specifically) it allows the operator to give their foot a rest at a red light, for instance. An approximately 5 psi service brake application will cancel it and release the brake.

    Missing in Action buses

Sure they do. I was one in ‘97. My intent was not to discredit Lex. I was hinting that whatever information he might be privy to through rumour or otherwise could be sensitive, and should be left off here for the foreseeable future.

You’re picking wallpaper patterns on a non existent house. Lets get the foundation poured first.

Can’t speak first hand, as I’m not at malvern at the moment

    Missing in Action buses

Perhaps as to wether it will be fixed specifically, but given the pending investigation nothing else.

    Missing in Action buses

It may not be fixed. 1330 was a refurbished bus, and it was condemned for similar damage to the curbside.

That’s a faraday product, same company that made the old electro mechanical chime. They’ve long, long since ceased production and support of those, I guess retroschool missed the memo.

I’d happily settle for just the pair, but it’s all moot now.

I’ll second that. Start with the subway cars. And keep them. Permanently. ....Actually with ATC active, nevermind. They’d never let them out with people on.

    The Random Thoughts Thread

I try to pad my trip times and take secondary highways where I can. Highway 7 is definitely my preferred route to Ottawa. I empathize with the stuck feeling. Toronto has become this supermassive object that holds you in its orbit. I can’t walk away from half a career’s worth of pension contributions now. I just hope I’m in decent enough physical shape to enjoy the sacrifice in 14 years. Recent back aches and pains are becoming almost daily companions....and I’m not even 40 yet.

Was busy bringing 3400s east all day. Didn’t have time to pay attention to anything else.

    Buses for sale

Orchard probably bought it to shuttle their seasonal picking crews around. They’re expensive to maintain compared to more utilitarian school buses, which can fit more men to boot. I reckon he found that out the hard way.

One has a engine driven pump, the other has an independent electric motor driving the pump.
