  1. Marvel Comics and movie fans might be interested to know that some of the filming of the forthcoming Spiderman spin-off movie ‘Moribus’ was filmed in Manchester, England in early 2019 when the Stevenson Square area of the city center was made to resemble New York City. Different types of American looking vehicles complemented the scene. A transit bus was included which was actually a Mercedes-Benz Citaro which was brought from a Belgian company Staca van Mullen. Therefore, it was appropriately left hand drive so quite fitting for the film’s setting. To disguise the manufacturer the Merced
  2. The town of Reading lies on the River Thames about 40 miles/65 km west of London and has a bus network operated by the council owned Reading Buses. Each service has its own brand and colour. The bus fleet consists of about 185 buses of which around 30 or so carry a grey based colour scheme and these buses are used to substitute the branded buses as required. Quite recently I made a visit to the town and some of the photographs I took may be seen here: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/davidslater-spoddendale/album/971524 ….. and look out for the service 21 bus fitted with a jukebox! 10. Good to see those - I thought the photo quality was pretty good. I don't use an iPhone so had no idea that it was possible to get such decent photos from one.
  11. Earlier this month I visited London and took a number of photogrpahs of the red buses including some of the 'New bus for London' - the three door double decker which includes a rear open platform entrance that is closed and locked during off peak periods. 13. One of the buses I regularly drive on school services here in England is a 100 seat tri-axle Volvo double decker which was originally new to Citybus in Hong Kong in 1990. On Christmas Day 1992 the original bus caught fire. The chassis was rebuilt from 11 metre to 12 metre and re-bodied in Hong Kong using a body kit supplied by Alexander of Scotland, the company that built the original body. The bus weighs 17210 kgs when empty. A few years ago quite a number of these buses were bought by British companies and they were shipped back here for further service. They were mainly used to carry schoo
