  1. Past hour
  2. H19304. New Flyer testing at Marpole loops
  3. Noticed something interesting with the EMS SUVs is that they alternate between the light bar going all red on both sides then all blue on both sides. Different from law enforcement which usually reserves blue for the right side and red for the left side.
  4. ...especially now that all the yard expansion track is in the way. If anyone has passed by recently, the 3 tracks are now in place, up to the U-HAUL storage area. Is this enough to confirm that there won't be a Falcon Station?
  5. Today
  6. Trust me when I say, I've heard horror stories about the fabric seats on the buses here. Can someone say....ew? The ones I had mentions are a hard resin material, and when a bus (even new ones) hit a substantial bump in the road, you feel it. Broke my tailbone over the winter, and lucked out with getting a driver that actually requested a bus with padded seats so that I could bear the one + hour ride into Buffalo on the Thruway.
  7. Similar. New DDOT buses use Freedman Aries seats... same as the ones in @alisonc 's picture, only with neutral gray plastic rather than blue. Years ago, DDOT (along with many other systems) had a problem with bed bugs infesting seat fabric. Though they've cleaned up dramatically, the public still perceives the fabric seats as "dirty". The shift to plastic seats actually came from overwhelming public request. Personally, I don't feel strong one way or the other. I was hoping for padded vinyl seats -- a good middle ground. The plastic seats are a little harsh but they're bearable. I preferred the fabric -- I didn't find it dirty, it was slightly more comfortable and generally "warmer" -- but I acknowledge that the plastic seats "feel" cleaner.
  8. While on the subject of old street signs, I may as well put up examples for Gatineau as well (from newest to oldest): Hull: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4366154,-75.7411564,3a,59.5y,59.55h,94.1t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sneNPZQ6bwuo1pUmsfe8k4A!2e0!5s20160501T000000!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4371596,-75.743389,3a,90y,281.05h,85.61t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sjpoDXLUYUiuL2yisWrlnzw!2e0!5s20140801T000000!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4526667,-75.7440673,3a,89.6y,64.18h,78.14t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sHBacPEvbuQv7AVotyiOhwg!2e0!5s20090601T000000!7i13312!8i6656 Aylmer: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4087404,-75.8518787,3a,89.9y,251.31h,86.11t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1smsJmYb-DSY9S6TrdMTF2sg!2e0!5s20090501T000000!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@45.3996808,-75.8443608,3a,89.6y,245.13h,102.34t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sAfJQ1e3xvIcqDshlpVUMvA!2e0!5s20090501T000000!7i13312!8i6656 (Old) Gatineau: I couldn't find any examples of the last design, but they were green on white, helvetica, title case, with the old Gatineau logo near the base: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4665329,-75.6884768,3a,75y,325.71h,82.11t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sv4TU31FdZT4aB4V7OMQibw!2e0!5s20120601T000000!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4837597,-75.6521259,3a,75y,346.34h,89.4t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sPvPIV2xcLhvJrO36qpYQbg!2e0!5s20090601T000000!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@45.465436,-75.6989048,3a,75y,313.58h,87.52t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sVRln0xX0gWGBal75Qcdbow!2e0!5s20090601T000000!7i13312!8i6656 Masson-Angers: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.5422796,-75.4300595,3a,75y,203.07h,84.44t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sTQNjpHDOY0_v84rngIbPZA!2e0!5s20090701T000000!7i13312!8i6656 Buckingham: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.5938399,-75.4038378,3a,75y,340.95h,94.42t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sBYVSjsYnub_rD7DI29iK2A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@45.5846465,-75.4129942,3a,75y,273.01h,96.44t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s_4a0kZWOl6faOJgt-y-jig!2e0!5s20120501T000000!7i13312!8i6656
  9. It's a private group. You'll either have to track down the owner (which I will conveniently not provide here) or join Facebook.
  10. Sad news everyone. The leaf flag at Carling/Holland for Route 14 has been removed 🙁 right now it's a blank bus flag.
  11. 8057 -> 85 Lees (LeBreton @ 11:05 AM) Guy didn't have his run number so I can't give details on that.
  12. Yesterday's TBT tweet shows Lees Station under construction in 1984: Construction at Lees Station (version 1.0) back in 1984 #tbt
  13. Here are some more mostly-incandescent traffic lights in Orleans: Jeanne d'Arc Blvd. North and Orleans Blvd.: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4787544,-75.5376717,3a,65.3y,69.68h,82.95t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sRFlqMyTB2l6B2zd9KShzaA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 St. Joseph Blvd. and Place d'Orleans Blvd. East: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4787544,-75.5376717,3a,90y,64.99h,79.76t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sRFlqMyTB2l6B2zd9KShzaA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 St. Joseph Blvd. and Edgar Breault Street: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4736034,-75.5199603,3a,75y,248.4h,93.69t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1spifCueST2Pv3SbtDswJ4Ug!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
  14. Little FML/WTF moment: at 2:35 am this morning I was startled awake by the sound of something falling & tumbling on the floor. I got up to have a look, and found my phone on the floor at the other end of the room, beside the door. I must've fallen asleep with my phone and it fell off the bed, though I'm not sure how it could've ended up all the way across the room.
  15. Rode it home the other day! I'm still struck by how smooth the suspension is.
  16. A few have been installed around the city. Off the top of my head, I've seen them at Riverside/Walkley and St-Laurent/Belfast.
  17. Well... two of them are NFI, not Nova... Including the one in the video
  18. Not sure who on here is on the OC FB group, but OC has installed a new electronic ad display at Robertson/Lynhar.
  19. Spotted 1916 (a Van Hool) on the 16 yesterday. Does anyone know of any other 19XX Van Hools in service, and how many there will be? Edit: 1904 was also spotted on route 1 a couple days ago
  20. 4386 (SUV) has the blue light's. Saw it responding Code 3 along Rideau and Wellington
