  2. I would like to see the 75 be split up, have a "175" run fallowfield to cambrian all day and allow the 75 to be what it's intended to be, a rapid route. Ever since the 95 extended to cambrian, the reliability of the route went down hill
  3. The problem is actually that the bus division is not a significant source of income for Volvo - in 2022 only 4% of revenue globally was from buses vs 66% from trucks and 21% from construction equipment. On top of the that margins in buses are not very good either (2% for buses vs 11% for trucks and 13% for construction equipment). What this means, of course, that Volvo might think that a better use of its resources is to invest more in the truck and construction part of its business so that more revenue and profit could be shown in bottom line. However, as I said previously if Volvo to shut down operations for Nova and/or Prevost in Quebec - Quebec government would undoubtedly find a way to buy the businesses out either directly or perhaps through investment by its pension plan which has a mandate to invest in Quebec based businesses.

  6. GO Transit: 8364 got stuck in a ditch while on route 56 this evening Not My video PXL_20240419_013731811.mp4
  7. Rode on Azur trainset 10-02. Out of every trainset, this one's the worst as the interior is extremely yellow and screeches pretty loudly when stopping.
  8. I'm not sure if you'll describe the 19 Bay as something that actually works. Traffic is always a mess south of Front and even at this moment of writing this post at 9:30 pm, northbound traffic between Queens Quay and Front is solid red on Google Maps. I feel the 19 would be more reliable if cut back to not reach the tunnel under the railway corridor.
  9. Most of the second-hand HEP-1/HEP-2 cars were built between 1946 and 1949 so those cars will be close to 90 years old by then.
  10. This should go in the Wiki Section https://cptdb.ca/forum/35-updates-additions/
  11. A breakdown based on the available maps: Route 73: Providing service between Fallowfield and Limebank Stations via Leikin/Crestheaven operating seven days a week with extension to Tunney's via Woodroffe/Transitway during weekday peak periods Route 68/88: It is great that Route 88 is split into two because the major complaints were the length and how buses were frequently late. With duplicate service between Baseline and Queensway Carleton Hospital providing more frequent service along that section Route 111/112: Route 111 stays on Meadowlands while Route 112 provides service via Viewmount Route 116: Focusing on direct corridor service on Hunt Club between Woodroffe and Transitway/Airport Parkway Route 117: Covering McFarlane/Arigua/Antares during the peak periods eliminating the confusing milk run operating on Route 96 I do like how additional detail is provided such as nearby hotels on the individual route maps. Line 1 Stations provide locations of nearby hotels within a few minutes of the station radius and will most likely be the case for Line 2/4 and Line 3 to maintain consistency. Especially to promote public transit usage and know the distance between the nearest station. It will take time for the rest of the maps to be uploaded onto the website. Especially with a few dozen route maps, it will take time for the web administrator to upload those files onto the website. With some routes going through small changes such as no more direct service to Gatineau, instead transferring to Route 8 in all time periods or Route 13 during peak periods only.
  12. We can count ourselves lucky if the new fleet supports the current frequencies. They certainly won’t procure for any service expansions…!
  13. You can see how TriMet has now perfected the wrapping process of their SD660s. 250 was the 1st wrapped unit so TriMet was likely still experimenting with how phase 4 wrap would be done. You can see how there are still white spots showing from the paint underneath and the fact that there is no front logo. 322 was a later wrap. You can see how much better the wrap on that unit is. There is almost no white showing and the logo is on the front. It's also interesting how fast the S660s are getting wrapped. There are currently 15 known units in the phase 4 wrap and i keep finding more thru recent videos and personal sightings.

  18. https://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php/File:Fairfax_Connector_6577-a.jpg Hey, I accidently renamed this wrong after copying it from another photo (accidentally hit entered on my keyboard). Can it be renamed to Fairfax Connector 9643-a.jpg plz
  19. That's sounds good to me. I Had lunch at Wendy's just a while ago.
  20. I think GM did that across the board starting in 1972 with the T6H5307N et al. OC buses used to have an emergency exit door where that square window was, but that too went. The top-hinged side windows were considered sufficient, making the door/window redundant.
  21. I spotted one 2006 Nabi with the exuast facing the wrong way in Miami today
  22. Today’s wendys thursday baconator with large fries and large cherry fanta zero (coca cola freestyle)
  23. As of the May 12th Board Period, the 19 Bay will be shortened, heading only as far as Union Station, with the 114 fully replacing service to the George Brown College campus. Quite a lot of people will be inconvenienced by this, both passengers and operators alike. Talk about a case of literally breaking something that has worked relatively well for the longest time.....
  24. OC Transpo has begun to release the route map PDF's for New Ways to Bus, currently the following routes have maps: 53, 68, 73, 74, 75, 81, 82, 88, 111, 112, 116, 117, 187, 189, 275 and 276, One thing I've noticed that is different from the current maps is a shopping centre symbol to differentiate it from other landmarks, like hotels in the 116 map. That addition is a nice one
  25. Currently no electric articulated buses meet the range needs of agencies. They do alright in the US but warmer climates don't hinder the battery range. There is a XE60 that's creeping it's way into acceptable ranges (330km a day) which made it's rounds around ontario and quebec. I suspect by 2025 you will see confirmed orders start pouring in and potentially Nova releasing their version by 2024
