The Van Hool C2000 Series was introduced in 2000 to the US market as a lower-cost coach intended for long-line duty, the C2000 Series. It has similar European looks to the T21 series. The coach is available in a 45 foot version only, called the C2045. The model with a wheelchair lift is known as the C2045L.

The current model is a redesigned version featuring a restylied headlight cluster, sloping lines over the fenders, and rear window option which was implemented in 2006. The tail light clusters and engine door were redestyled as well. This model is called the C2045E. Van Hool made the Sky View glass roof an option for the 2011-model C2045E. Taller baggage door rubrails and an integrate front bumber with lines following the headlight shape.

The rows of flourescent cabin lighting was replaced in 2005 with rows of small round LED fixtures which also have green LEDs for night lights. Soon after the C2045E model came out, more square luggage racks which accomodated larger video monitors became an option. The front steps were redesigned on the 2011-model with a spiral layout and reshaped steps. Woodgrain flooring, which has began to become popular on coaches, was made an option.
