The Van Hool A300 is a 12 metre fully low floor transit bus with the engine is mounted vertically midship. The A300 was based off the A500 series as a low floor version and unveiled in 1991. In 2001, the A300 along with the other A Series of buses were redesigned with an updated look. The word "New" was added before the model name to signify the redesign.
This model is offered in a CNG and a liquefied petroleum gas powered option. In 2009, a diesel-electric hybrid version was made available. It is currently the only type of propulsion for the A300.
