This route services Bellamy Road north of Eglinton Avenue East. It also provides service on McCowan Road between Kingston Road and Eglinton Avenue East. Its southern terminal is Warden Station and the northern terminal is Scarborough Centre Station for its one branch, 9.

  • August 19, 1966 - Route begins operation out of Birchmount Division and operates Mondays to Saturdays from 6am to 7pm between Brimorton and Brimley/Eglinton.
  • May 11, 1968 - Route restructured due to Bloor-Danforth Line extension. Branch 9 operated from Churchill Heights and Victoria Park Station. Branch 9A operated daily from St. Clair to Victoria Park Station.
  • January 4, 1971 - Branch 9 extended to Neilson and Highway 401.
  • November 22, 1980 - Route restructured due to Bloor-Danforth Line extension. Branch 9 operated Mondays to Saturdays from Neilson and Finch to Warden Station. Branch 9A incorporated to route 113 Danforth.
  • March 23, 1985 - Route restructured due to Scarborough RT opening. Branch 9 operated Mondays to Saturdays from Scarborough Centre Station to Warden Station. Service east of Scarborough Centre Station incorporated to route 133 Neilson.
  • January 7, 1990 - Sunday service added.
  • February 18, 1996 - Service removed after 10pm on weekdays and all day on weekends due to system-wide cuts.
  • October 6, 1996 - Weekend service restored.
  • June 26, 2004 - Saturday early evening service is discontinued.
  • May 8, 2005 - Route made accessible.
  • November 23, 2008 - Moved to Birchmount Division. Also, late evening service is added on weekdays and evenings on Sundays and holidays.
  • September 30, 2009 - Route made bike-rack equipped.
  • May 9, 2011 - Due to system-wide cuts, service is removed after 10pm on weekdays and Saturdays and after 7pm on Sundays and holidays.
  • September 6, 2015 - Service after 10pm on weekdays and Saturdays and after 7pm on Sundays and holidays is restored.
  • February 14, 2021 - The northern diversion along McCowan Road, Corporate Drive and Consilium Place is cancelled. Service now operates both ways via McCowan Road, Bushby Drive, and Progress Avenue to route.
  • March 26, 2023 - Due to bus bay construction at Scarborough Town Centre, all service will temporarily terminate on Bushby Drive at McCowan Station until summer 2023. Buses loop via north on McCowan Road, and east and south on Consilium Place to Progress Avenue.
  • May 7, 2023 - Service returns to the Scarborough Centre Station bus terminal.
