Scarborough GO Station is a GO Transit train station located in Toronto, ON. It is located on the south side of St. Clair Ave., east of Danforth Rd.
There are two station platforms: one on the north/west side of the main tracks, serving the northernmost track and the track to Stouffville, and one on the south/east side of the tracks. The middle track on the mainline is an express track, with no platforms to serve it. An underground walkway connects the station building on the east side to the north/west platform and the exit to St. Clair Ave. on the north/west side of the tracks. A ticket agent is available in the station building 7 days a week, until 9PM weekdays and 10PM weekends/holidays.
History
Until the mid-1990s, Stouffville trains stopped at both Danforth and Scarborough GO Stations, until the passenger loads started to overwhelm the Stouffville trains. Today they pass by express, but very rarely make stops to pick up passengers during major delays on the Lakeshore Lines. The platform to the Stouffville Line track is still maintained as track 1A.
