The New Flyer Industries L40LF is the liquefied natural gas (LNG) version of the popular D40LF model by New Flyer Industries. Although their exterior appearance is very similar to the DE40LF and GE40LF, the L40LF's roof tank is shaped slightly different.
The first L40LFs, serials 17160-17171, were produced for Laketran in Lake County, OH, USA. They are numbered 9751-9762.
After the 2009 model year, New Flyer will no longer manufacture the LF series of buses with the traditional style front and rear ends. The L40LF was replaced by the L40LFR in New Flyer's lineup.
