The Manitoba Transit Heritage Association Inc. is a non-profit registered charitable organization whose members volunteer in the rescue, restoration, maintenance, operation and display of Manitoba’s largest collection of vintage transit vehicles. Transit Heritage members include retired and current employees of Winnipeg Transit, Beaver Bus Lines, Greyhound Canada and New Flyer Industries along with bus and streetcar enthusiasts from the general public.

Publications

The Manitoba Transit Heritage Association publishes a newsletter titled The Switch Iron several times per year. It also co-publishes the annual Winnipeg Transit/MTHA calendar.

Activities

The association fulfills its mission by exhibiting items from its collection at public events in the Winnipeg area, including street fairs, cruise events, heritage festivals, parades, and other occasions to interact with the public. The MTHA also undertakes charitable activities where its buses can be used. MTHA buses have also been made available to motion picture and television productions.
