Hamilton GO Centre is a GO Transit train and bus station located in Hamilton, ON. It is located on the south side of Hunter St. between James St. and John St.

The main entrance is from Hunter Street, where a taxi stand exists. Ticket sales for both GO and HSR are located inside, as well as a waiting area for buses and trains. The bus area is south of the station. GO and coach buses enter from southbound James, turn left into their bay, reverse out, and exit onto northbound John. HSR buses serve stops along the south wall. The train station platforms are elevated on top of the station building, and are parallel to Hunter St. 4 trains stay overnight at Hamilton; two on the platform and two on stub tracks east of the station.

History

Hamilton GO Centre was opened as a rail station and head office by the TH&B railway in 1933. Passenger service to the station ended in 1981, leaving the station disused. GO's operations in the early 1990s were scattered across Hamilton, with train service along the CN Grimsby sub north of the downtown and bus service in a terminal at John and Rebecca. GO desired to centralize all its operations closer to downtown Hamilton, and bought and renovated the former TH&B station, opening it on April 13, 1996.

Initially serving only GO buses and intercity coach operations, Hamilton Street Railway buses were rerouted into the terminal starting with route 51 in 2009, and shortly followed by busy routes 1, 2 and 3.
