Durham Region Transit

Durham Region Transit (DRT) provides public transportation in the Regional Municipality of Durham, Ontario. DRT was formed in 2006 as a result of a merger of the Ajax Pickering Transit Authority, Oshawa Transit Commission, Clarington Transit, Whitby Transit, and their respective paratransit services.
DRT is divided into four service areas which originally corresponded to the division operating in the area:
- Oshawa/Clarington (originally known as DRT East prior to 2009)
- Whitby (originally known as DRT Centre prior to 2009)
- Ajax/Pickering (originally known as DRT West prior to 2009)
- Brock, Scugog & Uxbridge (orginally known as DRT North prior to 2009)

Routes
Durham Region Transit's bus routes are numbered according to the area they serve. This system was adopted on July 28, 2008 to elliminate duplicate route numbers. See the Durham Region Transit bus routes page for a complete list of routes.

Divisions
- Raleigh Division
This garage serves mainly Oshawa and Clarington, and is located at 710 Raleigh Ave. in Oshawa. It is the former Oshawa Transit Commision garage. An item of interest at this facility is the Oshawa Mural Bus, which is displayed on the front lawn. This division was known as East prior to 2009.
- Whitby Works Satelite Division
DRT has a contract with Trentway-Wagar to maintain vehicle operations for service in Whitby. Located at 1559 Victoria St E. in Whitby, this garage also houses Coach Canada school buses and minibuses. There is no indoor vehicle storage at this facility and it has only two repair bays with a small office upstairs for staff. This division was known as Centre prior to 2009.
- Westney Division
The main facility is located at 110 Westney Rd. S. next to the Ajax GO Station, this garage services vehicles running in Ajax and Pickering. It is the former Ajax-Pickering Transit Authority and Ajax Transit garage. This garage has recently had an expansion of the yard where the buses are parked. This results in a more organized facility and more space for new buses.
- Pickering Works Satellite Division
The satellite garage is located in Pickering on Brock Rd. This division was known as West prior to 2009.
- North
Operations for northern areas of Durham are contracted out.
