The Alexander Dennis Enviro200 was a newly designed midibus orignally by TransBus International. It was thought by TransBus to be a revolutionary bus for the UK transit market. It boasted a 25% increase in passenger capcity and better passenger flow with a door at the front and a door at the very rear.

The bus had an offside powertrain mounting with the drive mounted offside as well. The offside powertrain means that any residual noise or heat is generated as far away as possible from pedestrian walkways. This is aided by the “Enviro Pack” which removes already low levels of exhaust emissions, noise and heat away from ground level, dispersing them at roof level, well away from passing pedestrians.

The Enviro200 has not seen the success that was anticipated, and eventually Alexander Dennis focused on the Enviro200Dart which was more closely related to their popular Dart SLF.
