Mississauga Transit 5001-5038

Mississauga Transit 5001-5038 were 1982 GM TA60-102N articulated buses.

While a fleet of 38 buses, only 5001-5014 were new to Mississauga Transit as part of a purchase of 53 buses by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and Communications to evaluate the operation of articulated buses in Hamilton, Mississauga, Ottawa and Toronto.

Mississauga Transit would later acquire most of the articulated buses after the evaluation period. 5015-5026 were formerly TTC 8500-8511, acquired in 1986. 5027-5038 were formerly OC Transpo buses, acquired in 1987.

All the buses originally had rollsigns. In 1986, when the second-hand units arrived in Mississauga, they were all retrofitted with Luminator MAX destination signs, which they carried until their retirement in the 1990s.

Retirement began in 1993, and the entire fleet was retired by 1997.
